Our Mission The KSBDC increases economic prosperity in Kansas by helping entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses through professional advising, training and resources.
Training KSBDC workshops help you start, manage, operate and grow your business. Training programs range from advanced seminars aimed at experienced business owners to introductory workshops for the novice business owner and those considering starting a business. QuickBooks, Financials and Taxes Marketing and Sales SEO and Social Media Starting a Business Strategic Planning Government Contracting Exporting One-on-One Advising The KSBDC offers individualized, confidential and comprehensive advising at no charge to small business owners in Johnson, Miami or Wyandotte counties in Kansas. We recommend that aspiring entrepreneurs attend a startup workshop before beginning the advising process. Receive a 15% discount when you enroll in three or more JCCC KSBDC or other Continuing Education courses in a single transaction. Discounts are nontransferable. Some restrictions apply.
Helping Existing Businesses The KSBDC works with existing business owners throughout the various stages of business including: Startup during the first years in business Becoming established through growth and expansion Innovation in developing new products and market strategies Identifying opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions or selling your business Troubleshooting and dealing with downturns Planning for the future, including strategic growth planning and exit planning KSBDC FACTS In 2015, the KSBDC provided 2,501 hours of advising services to 462 aspiring or existing small business owners and 4,447 hours of training to 989 workshop attendees. Our small business clients credited the KSBDC assistance they received with these positive impacts: 601 jobs created and/or retained $14.6 million new capital infused into their businesses $10.5 million sales increase in their businesses Return on investment for every dollar invested in the JCCC KSBDC program, our clients generated $28.10 in tax revenue
