This session will look at potential issues ahead for providers relating to ICD-10. Session: Solving the Modifier Mystery and all specialties except CIRCC Modifier usage has long been scrutinized by the OIG. This session will identify specific modifiers that continue to be problematic. Gain a better understanding of modifier assignment and application. Break Session: Practice Management Myths (1 CEU) This advanced session will address common myths in medical practice management. How to protect the providers and revenue without opening the practice up to vulnerabilities. Lunch Session: ICD-10-CM Coding Breakdown (1 CEU) This interactive session will provide detail on how to properly code and sequence problematic areas of ICD-10-CM coding. Areas such as AIDS/HIV, hypertension with heart involvement and chronic kidney disease, and so much more. Practical application will be provided so attendees can demonstrate competency. Session: Trouble in your office? Corrective Action Techniques for that Lazy Bone AAPC Approved for 1.0 Core B, CPPM Corrective action is a requirement for all healthcare offices to be successful. This informative session will outline different policies within a corrective action plan. Learning how to avoid, implement, and improve on corrective action or disciplinary action will be discussed in depth. Break Session: CABG Coding Workshop, CCC and CCVTC Certain coding sections are harder to decipher, and CABG coding is one of those areas. This session will teach coders to break CABG coding down into three primary areas. Attendees will develop a coding chart for ease of coding. Case study and scenarios will be used to test the chart and three areas of CABG coding. Session: ICD-10-CM Coding of Infectious & Parasitic and all specialties except CIRCC During this hands-on session we will discuss the coding guidelines associated with Chapter 1 ICD-10-CM codes. Special attention will be given to additional rules and proper sequencing. Break Session: Find That Code: Coding This fun and interactive session will challenge attendees on topics they may not have seen since their certification exam. This session will refresh the seasoned coders on areas of coding that contain significant rules such as Spinal Arthrodesis coding, CABG, etc. Lunch Session: Today s Challenges: Coding, Auditing & Compliance, CPCO and CPMA Dive deeper into the challenges facing today s medical coder and how it contributes to issues in auditing and compliance. Discuss how bridging the gap and becomes cross certified can eliminate some of the challenges.
