COMMUNICATION EMAIL To subscribe to the RED NATION email distribution list visit the McKinney Boyd football webpage. Paula Martin will be sending weekly communication once the season begins.

COMMUNICATION CHAIN OF COMMAND All program questions should be directed to the Head Coach at each level. Freshmen - Head Coach, Felipe Torres ftorres@mckinneyisd.net JV - Head Coach, Jeff Park jepark@mckinneyisd.net. Varsity Head Coach, Don Drake ddrake@mckinneyisd.net.

All players will be issued a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to work out in. Players must provide their own cleats. They also must provide their own athletic supporter and toiletry items (soap, towel, etc.) We wash shorts, shirt, and towel. Everything else must go home to be washed. We expect our players to shower every day after practice and to wash their clothes.

Game Day Routine Varsity: All varsity players will remain on campus after school. Players will be fed on campus and load the buses to travel to the game. All players are required to ride the bus to and from the game (no exceptions). Sub-varsity: Report time varies depending on game location. Game day meals are not provided for sub-varsity. Parents may drop off food at the athletic office (not the front office) prior to 1:30 P.M. on game days. Food will need to be labeled with the players name. Please do not deliver food between 1:30-3:00 P.M. as this interferes with buses arriving for after school dismissal.

Fundraising Card Sales - Kids will begin selling $20 restaurant cards on Friday, April 24 th. Sales will last for one week. We will blitz on Friday, May 1 st for all kids that have not sold their allotted 20 cards. Report time to turn in all card money on May 1 st is 7:00 P.M. in the Boyd Athletic Office. HUDL - Each athlete will have access to our online video provider HUDL.com. We will create accounts for the athletes so they can review their game video. You can create highlights for your players and email those highlights to family members, recruiters, etc. Recruiting - We are in constant communication with recruiters about potential college athletes that we have. We will email highlights and make phone calls about potential recruits on behalf of our players. We ask that the players/parents create their own highlights through HUDL. Once a college expresses interest in a player, I encourage parents to keep the communication with the college open. I will be doing the same. Offseason - Once the season is completed, we begin powerlifting workouts in the mornings at 6:45 A.M. All freshmen will move to 1 st period athletics for the second semester so that they can participate as well.

Social Media - We need your help ensuring that our players are representing you and our program in the appropriate fashion. No foul language, inappropriate pictures, etc. Co-Curricular Contract - We expect our players to represent us in the correct fashion both in and out of school. This means no alcohol or drug use or associating with individuals that do. (attendance at parties where alcohol or drugs are present) Labor Day Practice, Monday, Sept. 7 th - We will practice on Labor Day morning. This practice is not optional. We need all players in attendance. College Visits - We prefer all college visits to occur the weekend of our open week (Oct. 9 th ) or on Friday s after our Thursday night games (August 27 th or Nov. 5 th. We need our players in practice every day. Nutrition - Our players need to drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep (8+ hours each night), eat plenty of healthy calories (protein, carbs, low sugar). I cannot recommend supplements. However, there are good products out there that provide extra protein for our kids. I recommend visiting with your doctor about protein supplements that will help your child accomplish his weight goals.
