Button Son Anthony Putnam Daughter-In-Law Tehra Osborn Grand-Daughter Stacy Osborn Born La Hunta, Colorado October 21, 1947 Graduated High School from Fort Lupton, Colorado 1965 Entered the U.S. Navy 1967 Discharged 1972 Worked for Pierce County EMS and then began employment with the Evergreen Medic Group in 1977 and then Redmond FD in 2003. Les began working with Snohomish County District 26th in 2002. Service Location: Woodinville Alliance Church 13940 NE 166th, Woodinville, WA 98072 Services Began at 11:00 AM Procession Route: The procession will begin in Gold Bar at Fire Station 26 with Cindy Button to be escorted/driven by the Snohomish County Fire District 26 MSO Vehicle long with their Aid Car and Engine. Les Putnam s cremated remains will be in a Medic Unit. Redmond Fire will have MSO8 and M29 in the procession with John Frazier and Pat Randles driving those vehicles. King County Fire District 50 will be in the procession as well that leaves Gold Bar at approximately 0900. The procession route will travel west on SR 2 to Monroe then turns south on SR 203 to Duvall then west on the Woodinville-Duvall Road. Making a turn south on Avondale Rd NE and continuing south to 124th Ave NE, the procession will turn north on the Redmond to Woodinville Road to the Woodinville Alliance Church. There is an attached plan for parking and vehicle egress which, describes apparatus positioning. Pre-Service Preparations - Support personnel will arrive at the church at approximately 0900. FF Ryan Dhoore for Duvall Fire is liaison for parking lot issues, as well as the post service reception activities. Eight firefighters will be assigned to Dhoore for parking and doorway directions. Duvall and assigned personnel will assist with reception food and setup. A catered reception with a Blues Band will be used after the service.
Fire Apparatus and On Duty Crews: On duty crews and attending apparatus should arrive at the church between 10:00 and 10:15. On site personnel will direct apparatus to a staging are allowing for egress if needed. The attached plan will position apparatus on the east side of the church building. We have an overflow parking plan if needed but everyone is encouraged to carpool if possible. There will not be a formal procession of uniformed personnel and all firefighters may sit with their own families. There will not be designated seating other than the front rows which will be reserved for family and the commands of both fire departments. If the seating exceeds capacity, uniformed personnel will be asked to stand easy around the peripheral of the chapel along the walls. Honor Guard Information: The Bellevue FD Honor Guard will present colors before the ceremony with the usual procession led by BC Rich Burke of BFD. Chief Smith will cal the room to order or presentation of colors. The color guard will present an already folded flag, out of the display case to Chief Smith. (The BFD Honor Guard will practice this with Chief Smith at about 10:00 prior to the service.) Chief Smith will salute the flag, covered and then present the flag to Cindy Button. The Snohomish County Honor Guard will ring bells as well as prompt the last call alarms from dispatch. (This is a pre-recorded version) The BFD Honor Guard will post the colors and close the ceremony. Weather - The forecast is calling for more than 50% chance of rain. Depending on logistics, Les s vintage vehicle will be trailered and displayed underneath a canopy provided by Fire District 26. FD 26 crews will provide the logistics for transporting and displaying the vehicle alongside other vintage cars. Two to Four additional vintage cars from his car club will be displayed along with the RFD vintage engine. Financing - Financing is being routed through the Duvall Firefighters Local. Ryan Dhoore is charging various items such as catering and needed items for the ceremony to the local s credit card. The hired Blues Band is Drummerboy" which will incur a fee. Area unions have donated to help with ceremony expenses with funds directed to the Duvall Local. Ryan will sort bills and submit the remaining balance to the Redmond Firefighters Union for reconciliation. Site Layout Overflow Parking Entrance Parking Overflow Classic Cars On Duty Medic Units Entrance 1 Family Entrance Entrance 2 Fire Apparatus Overflow Facilities and Traffic Management: The map attached shows parking for apparatus and personal vehicles. The NE corner is reserved for family and selected fire department vehicles. Parking for on-duty and attending fire apparatus/companies is along side the NW corner and personal vehicle parking is in the obviously marked areas. Traffic will be coordinated by designated fire personnel and fire explorer personnel at the entrances to the parking lots. Over-flow parking is located behind the church in the back field. Woodinville Fire and Life Safety provide a 15 passenger van if shuttles are needed. The King County Sheriff s Department is providing traffic control support on the roadways as well as intercepting the procession from Snohomish County Sheriff s. There are three entrances into the chapel area. All entrances are easily accessible from the three parking lots. Off-duty fire vehicles should arrive before 10:30 for setup.

District 50 to join SNO Co District 26 to form procession. 0830 Sno District 26 to Pick up Cindy Button from home. 0830 Early setup and logistics with designated crew. Crew Meeting 0900 Procession to depart Gold Bar with Les Putnam s urn. Sno FD 26 and lead vehicle with MSA Command vehicle to transport Cindy Button with a single driver. Snohomish Sheriff to escort with required fully staffed Medic Unit (M-29) for Sheriff detail protection. 0900 Reception area setup and prep. Setup of Parking Lot 0900 Procession escort by Snohomish County Sheriffs via the designated route to the Woodinville Alliance Church (King Co. Sheriff not available) 1000 to 1015 Procession Arrives at church. 1015 Family arrives with procession and escorted the church s family room by waiting RFD personnel. 1000-1030 - Off duty units and fire apparatus to stage on west side of building. 1000-1030 - Early Honor Guard briefing and practice with the FD Chief 1015-1100 Greet and direct guest to seats. Hand out programs. 1000-1030 - Late brief and last minute updates to program with primaries. 1040 - Prelude music with acoustic guitar musician 1100 Memorial Services Begin (see above program schedule) 12:30-1500 (approximate) Reception with catered food and drinks. Live Blues Band. 1500 Clean-up and take down of parking lot. FD 26 will transport Cindy Button to home with informal procession of family and fire department personnel. 1500 De-brief
Class A s are preferred but not required for off-duty personnel. There will not be a procession of Firefighters into or out of the chapel. All personnel are to sit with their families and friends. Departments will not be seated in specific or pre-reserved areas and once the service is completed, guest can leave the chapel at their leisure. The reception is casual with buffet style catered Bar-B-Que with non-alcoholic drinks. There may be a 30 to 45-minute informal remembrance of Les during the reception with a chance for friends and family to talk about Les and his life.
