What We Want To Support Support community involvement projects that bring people and communities together and improve social interaction, particularly projects that engage the hardest to reach or vulnerable groups Tackle Poverty projects that work with the most vulnerable people in coalfield communities to alleviate the effects of poverty Create jobs and help people into work projects that create new sustainable jobs within the community, or support people into work, addressing barriers to work such as childcare or transport. Skills and training projects that develop skills for people or help them gain new qualifications Improve health and wellbeing projects that improve the quality of life for people living in coalfield communities with health problems, or projects that prevent negative impacts on health and wellbeing Social enterprise development - projects that support the growth/development of social enterprises. Financial inclusion projects that develop the skills of people to manage their finances and provide support to those with problem debts
Eligibility The Coalfields Regions The coalfields regions are slightly fragmented as CRT funding is only accessible to organisations based on or working with people who live in eligible coalfield wards. Eligibility Organisational Structure Unregistered organisations with formal rules i.e. with a constitution Companies limited by guarantee Registered charities Industrial and Provident Societies Community Interest Companies Charitable Incorporated Organisations
Unfortunately We Are Unable to Fund Individuals Statutory bodies Parish and Town Councils Organisations that we believe are in a poor financial position or whose financial management systems are not in good order Private businesses National organisations Organisations with unrestricted income above 250,000 Friends of Groups where the end beneficiary will clearly be a statutory body Pigeon (Flying) Clubs Organisations not established in the UK
Eligible Costs / What Can be Funded Refurbishment/Buildings: State clearly whether you are buying, constructing or refurbishing a building Equipment/Materials: State what type for example, computer hardware and software play equipment, sports equipment or office equipment. Please note that the Trust will contribute a maximum limit of 800 towards IT equipment (hardware and software package) per item or 400 for laptops/tablets. Specialist items of software/hardware will be considered separately Salaries/Sessional Staff: You will need to provide evidence that hourly rates are reasonable, provide quotes from external tutors and a job description for salaried posts Running Costs: This can include rent, venue hire, insurance, expenses, travel Training: This can be formal, non vocational training or accredited training Promotion/Marketing: This could include developing a website, newsletters, adverts, flyers
Ineligible Costs Overseas travel costs and expenses General appeals School fees Bank or audit charges Recoverable VAT Day trips or social events with no specific educational or training purpose Animal welfare activities Refreshments Medical or research equipment Depreciation and amortisation Contingencies Retrospective costs (costs you owed or agreed to pay before your application was approved) Fees for independent or external professional fundraisers The creation or maintenance of car parks, footpaths, roads, including access The development of bars or bar areas Private pension schemes Performance related pay, bonuses, increments (except cost of living) and debts Gifts and entertaining Kit/Strips, unless clear that it is for a newly established team Income tax & NI for sessional staff

All applications have to be able to achieve 1 or more of the outputs below: Number of jobs created / safeguarded Number of people assisted into work Number of people assisted in skills development (6+hrs) Number of people gaining a qualification (Level 1) Number of people gaining a qualification (Level 2 or above) Number of community facilities created/improved Number of social enterprises created/supported Number of people benefiting from healthy lifestyle activities Number of community activities created/improved Number of new childcare places created Number of new volunteers
