Jersey Shre University Medical Center Ob/Gyn Residency Prgram Educatinal Gals and Objectives fr REI PGY2 These are the Educatinal Gals and Objectives fr the Reprductive Endcrinlgy and Infertility Rtatin. Please review and becme familiar with these gals and bjectives. The 2nd Year Resident n the REI rtatin is respnsible fr participating in all surgical prcedures perfrmed by attending faculty trained in Reprductive Endcrinlgy and Infertility. The utpatient cmpnent fr this rtatin includes basic infertility prcedures such as intrauterine inseminatin, trans vaginal and trans abdminal ultrasund, egg retrieval and embry transfer and expsure t embrylgy, genetics, and pre implantatin genetic diagnsis. The resident will be expected t understand male factr and female infertility etilgy, diagnsis, wrkup and management. By the end f this rtatin the Educatinal Gals and Objectives shuld be met. Educatinal Gals and Objectives fr this rtatin: 1. Develp knwledge and skills necessary t diagnsis, manage, and cunsel the infertile cuple. 2. Understand the pharmaclgy f vulatin inductin agents and their ptential cmplicatins. 3. Understand surrgate pregnancy and the prcess f egg dnatin. 4. Participate in risk management discussins and meetings METHOD OF EVALUATION Residents will be evaluated during this rtatin and thrughut residency via several methds including: fcused assessments, glbal assessments, in-training exams, prfessinal assciate evaluatins, patient satisfactin surveys, participatin at Jurnal Club, self-assessment, Life Lng Learning assignments, and participatin in grup discussins, sign ut, wrk runds, and cntributin t discussins and plans t imprve the residency educatinal experience. 1. Case Lg and Resident Statistics The resident is expected t maintain a case lg and input their prcedure statistics n a regular basis. 2. Fcused Assessment Cmpetencies (FAC) The resident shuld cmplete fcused assessment cmpetencies (FAC) fr the Educatinal Gals and Objectives listed fr this rtatin. 3. Glbal Evaluatin Glbal evaluatin f the resident will be perfrmed quarterly. Evaluatin will be based n feedback frm peers, medical students, attending faculty and patient satisfactin questinnaire. Residents will als underg self evaluatin.

Resident Prtfli The resident is expected t maintain a resident prtfli develped during the time the resident is enrlled in the prgram. It will cntain a variety f infrmatin reflecting the resident s prgress, evaluatins, cmmendatin, letters, and ambitin and achievements during residency. 5. Self Evaluatin The resident will cmplete regular self evaluatins fr review and discussin with the Prgram Directr. Research and schlarly activity will be reviewed. Patient surveys will be discussed. 6. Feedback The resident shuld give timely feedback t attendings and department as t the effectiveness and quality f the educatinal experience n this rtatin. Strengths, weaknesses and pprtunities t imprve this rtatin will be examined. 7. CREOG In Training Exam Perfrmance, self study, and plans fr imprvement will be discussed.
