Scholarship & Open Day 14 & 15 April - A big thank you to all the academic and non academic staff, and students for making the event a success. Scholarship Roadshows (April) Our sales teams went around different towns nationwide to promote our programmes along with the highlights of the month - the scholarship and bursary. Photo Shoot: Scholarship Recipients for April 2018 An individual and group photography session was organised by the Marketing and Design Unit of Linton for the April 2018 Scholarship Recipients of Linton University College and its Affiliates. At the same time, we d like to congratulate them and wish them all the best.

The ROSE PROJECT 17th April - Parents of our Orang Asli ROSE Scholarship Recipients met up with Project 57 Co- Founder Sadiq and COO, Debbie for a meet-and-greet session. The morning started with a short slide show and briefing on what Projek57 is about and their collaboration with Linton University College. It then proceeded to light refreshments and signing of the Scholarship Acceptance Letter by the students and their next-of-kin. We now have a total of nine ROSE Scholarship Students with us. School of Nursing, IISM 1st Asthma Public Forum 11th April - In conjunction with World Asthma Day 2018, UKM Medical Centre and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz organised its first Public Forum. The event was attended by four students and a lecturer from IISM. The focus of the forum was on asthma prevention, diagnosis and treatment. IISM: Campus Recruitment Programme 6th April - A Campus Recruitment interview was held for the nursing students with Institute Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute). Five students were selected and offered jobs at IJN. We wish them all the best.

7 th International Conference Human Values in Higher Education The international conference on human values in higher education (ICHVHE) is an annual conference aimed at developing a shared vision of holistic, human education, particularly in institutions of higher education. Purpose of the conference was: To develop the requirements for holistic, humane education. To develop the guidelines, content and process (methodology) for imparting universal human values in higher education, particularly in health education. To share existing practices & experiences in imparting universal human values in higher education, particularly in health education. To discuss how further efforts can be made for implementing universal human values in higher education, particularly in health education. Mdm Saraswathy Thangarajoo attended the two-day conference in Thimpu, Bhutan. Faculty of Built Environment (FOBE) Concrete Bowling Competition @ University Malaya 21 April - Linton University College s Faculty of Built Environment - Civil Engineering students participated in the competition and brought home the Excellence Award for Best Strength and Toughness. The competition was basically the crafting of a bowling ball by the contesting teams using concrete material which is then tested through a bowling competition. Interesting stuff! Good job students!

Site Visit to Taiping, Ipoh 4th - 6th April - Architecture students from the Faculty of Built Environment went on a town trail, site survey and site analysis performance in Taiping, Ipoh as part of their architecture design studio site visit project. Excursion To BLUESCOPE LYSAGHT, Shah Alam & NS BLUESCOPE, Kapar 17th April - Students of FOBE went on an excursion to Bluescope Lysaght in Shah Alam and Kapar. Bluescope is a leading steel manufacturer in Malaysia and is a market leader in its trusted quality and versatile application across roofs and walling to large commercial need - making it the preferred brand of architects.

FOBE Seminar: Applied Satellite / Drone Digital Image Processing and Remote Sensing Techniques with Applications 30th Aprill - A talk on applied Satellite / Drone Digital Image Processing and Remote Sensing Techniques with Applications was presented by Dr Raju Aedla from Kumamuto University, Japan in Linton University College, organised by the Faculty of Built Environment (FOBE). Dr Raju is an award winning researcher and his current research interest is in the subject matter of the seminar. The visit was also to discuss future collaborations between Linton University College and Kumamuto University, Japan. Congratulations! i) Linton s Architecture and Quantity Surveying lecturer, Ar. Dr. Yong Kum Weng received his certification as a registered conservator for buildings and sites under the National Heritage Board. Congratulations, Dr. Yong!

ii) Madam Norizan Abd Rahim was invited on the evaluation panel for Architect Studio Presentations at University Tunku Abdul Rahman. (21st April) iii) Ar. Mohamad Saifullah Rodzi was invited as Speaker for PAM 2018 Convention ARCHIPRENEUR (20th April)

Faculty of Business & Accounting (FOBA) LUC FUN RUN 28th April - In the spirit sportsmanship amongst students and staff, FOBA conducted the LUC Fun Run with fifty plus participants. The run as the name says was FUN. Medals and T-shirts were given to winners and participants. Kudos to the faculty for the initiative and for forging unity, friendship and sportsmanship. Social Enterprise Project 17th April - Our 2nd year Business Students had their engines warmed up early today as they underwent a briefing session with Projek57 on their social enterprise project for this semester.

Visit to Bank Negara Students of FOBA went on a trip to Bank Negara as part of their outdoor excursion for April. Student Affairs Department (STAD) Mix Rhythm Dance Workshop 28th & 29th April - The Arts Rhythm Association (ARA) of Linton and Affiliates organised a "Mix Rhythm" Dance Workshop 2018 in collaboration with the STAD Sports Unit. The workshop included modern & traditional dance techniques in interpreting a song in performance style.

Fun with Chinese Diabolo If you ve passed by the area last month and saw some of our Chinese students balancing what may have seemed like gigantic yo-yos on strings, then you would have seen what is actually known as the Chinese Diabolo. What a fun way to enjoy some free time in the evening, right? Want to learn the technique? We suggest you get a hold of the Chinese Association students and book a spot in the evening with them. SRC Environmental Clean-up Campaign A huge thank you goes out to all who volunteered in the Student Representative Council s Environmental Clean-up Campaign around Linton s Lakeside. It was simply apt that it took place a day before we celebrated International Earth Day on the 22nd of April. Good team work makes the dreams work for a better environment.

Human Resource Department (HRD) Career Talk With Industry Expert Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), under the Faculty of Economics & Management, organised a talk on CAREER TALK WITH INDUSTRY EXPERT for their undergraduates on 12 th April 2018. A total 120 students attended the talk. The talk was held under the supervision of the senior lecture, Dr. Zuraina Dato Mansor. Mr. Murugan Purushothaman, Assistant Manager, Human Resource Department, of Linton University College, was invited to deliver his talk entitled Graduate Employability Current Scenario & Employers Expectation. During his talk, he highlighted on the current job market & the expectation from the employers whenever they employ fresh graduates. He stressed on the importance of graduates in enhancing their languages ability, especially English & also their academic results. He also encouraged the undergraduates to participate in various outdoor activities to enrich their knowledge, skills and ability to meet the demands of the job market. He received a token of appreciation from UPM for his time in sharing valuable information with the undergraduates. IISM signs MOU with C.S.I. Jeyaraj Annapackiam College Of Nursing, India. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between I n t e r n a t i o n a l I n s t i t u t e o f Science Mantin (IISM) and C.S.I. Jeyaraj Annapackiam College Of Nursing was signed on the 13th of April 2018. The event was held at Linton University College with VIPs from both Institutions along with Dr Kamis Awang, who was the official witness to the signing. Signing on behalf of IISM was Mdm Sarah Thangarajoo, the CEO of IISM and Dr Jothi Sophia, Principal of C.S.Jeyaraj Annapackiam College. This MOU signing will see to the future Student Exchange and Mobility Programmes in which Linton and its Affiliated Institutes are venturing into. These partnership ventures are headed by Mr Alla Kesava Rao, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Linton University College.

Linton Signs MOU with M Academy 13 April 2018 - Linton University College signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with M Academy, marking the start of another step forward in providing the best opportunities for the future graduates of the Institution. The MOU between the two parties was signed on the agreement of providing internship opportunity by M Academy to the students of Linton University College (LUC) and its Affiliates. M Academy is an education based company in Ampang that seeks to offer students of LUC and its Affiliates the opportunity for experiential learning through a structured, supervised and professional setting. It offers practical and effective modes of training that is assistive in accelerating one s growing process as well as reaching for real, effective and practical outputs through a series of its courses such as Interactive Business Communication, Effective Team Performance Management, and Self-Branding. These courses are tailored to lead individual or corporate to breakthrough over this intense market and stand out in a group of intellectuals. This partnership will fundamentally open channels to industrial training placements, collaborative efforts in sharing of expertise and facilities, aiding in the delivery of courses, lectures, workshops, seminars, and symposium, as well as to sponsor, fund and contribute through Industry Scholarships. Zen Technologies and Trip4Asia Partners with Linton University College 26 April 2018 - Linton University College signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Trip4Asia Travel Sdn Bhd and Zen Technologies.

Trip4asia Travel Sdn. Bhd. was founded in 2013. It has over 130 employees which covered 10 Asia Pacific and Oceania countries. It originally started its business as a standard traditional travel agent. With progress through time, the group developed and launched its one-stop online hotel and accommodation reservations system. After years of effort, Trip4asia expanded and became an all-in-one service platform for better lifestyle and entertainment as it provides the best services for its customers. Partnering with Trip4Asia is also an initiative towards Linton s future plans of expanding its faculty into the areas of Hospitality and Tourism. Established in 2010, Zen Technologies is well-known for being a reliable IT Solution provider in Asia for the last 8 years. It owns a great reputation for its optimal service and strong after-sales support. Mastering in mobile apps development, Pos system solution, software development and website design, this partnership would open doors for Linton s students to gain internship programmes and employment in the future particularly our graduates from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. This partnership will fundamentally open channels to industrial training placements, collaborative efforts in sharing of expertise and facilities, aiding in the delivery of courses, lectures, workshops, seminars, and symposium, as well as to sponsor, fund and contribute through Industry Scholarships. Secretarial Week In conjunction with International Women s Day, the HR Department organised a Secretary (and Administrative staff) Day. Three major events were held all day long. The day kick-started with Zumba workout for everyone, followed by a Talk on Healthy Eating for Women by NSCMH and the day ended with a Make-Up Workshop. We hope all those who attended the event had a blast of a time.
