Erasmus Mundus UNetBA Description: The University Network for Business and Administration (UNetBA) enables and organizes mobility of 234 Maghreb nationals (North Africa) and 20 European Post doctorates and Staff to universities.
Mobility grants include: Undergraduate Masters Doctoral Post-doctoral and academic /administrative staff This mobility will have significant impact on the capacity of the Maghreb partner universities.
The UNetBA partnership is composed of 18 partner institutions from North Africa (13) and European countries (5), as well as 2 associate institutions. The project has opened three calls for application, the first in the scholar year 2014/2015, the second in 2015/2016 and the last one in 2016/2017. UNetBA: Learning outcomes Cairo University achieved high scores in the accepted applications among the Maghreb and Egyptian universities: Dissemination through EU Research Projects Office IRO High academic standards: GPA and language tests grades. Well prepared documents.
Selection was mainly made by the EU universities. Flexibility, Friendly environment and good networking Professional project manager and admins rather than academics. Debate raised with other Maghreb partners in the mid meeting at University of Porto because of large number of Egyptian students (CU students) accepted. Small number of undergraduate applicants from Egyptian universities. Lybian refugees problems due to political instability.

WIDER OBJECTIVE To improve the knowledge triangle by promoting an effective Innovation culture in Higher Education, and starting up Innovative modes of association and interaction between Universities, Businesses and Society in order to enhance the socio-economic environment across the MED region.
The Consortium is composed of 4 Universities, and one Scientific and Technological Park from EU countries - Spain, Portugal, Italy and Poland- and 12 Universities from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia with support from social partners as Chambers of Commerce, Clusters, Networks and Associations from these MED countries. This program aims to achieve four basic objectives: 1 - Train the trainers and create new curricula in Management of innovation and entrepreneurship. 2 - Disseminate this learning program in Management of innovation and entrepreneurship to target audiences. 3. Establish actions of expertise and guidance in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. 4 - Improve the governance process for each institution within the consortium.
Expected Results To catch up on knowledge production, promote and start up an effective Innovation culture by implementing the Transversal Accelerator Program at all Education and Research levels of 12 MED Universities. To improve the capacities, create and reinforce structures of Innovation at the MED Universities through development of specific training Program, and starting a best practice transfer Systems for long-term cooperation between Mediterranean HEIS and with European Universities. To increase innovative actions and build new modes of interaction by enhancing knowledge flows between Universities, Labour market and Society through MED Region with the implementation of the innovative methodology INSTART Network.
