Our DR3AM'RS recently visited the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College. The teens enjoyed the opportunity to see the entire university including facilities and dorms. They enjoyed lunch on one of many campus cafeterias and they listened to current students talk about their college experience. Georgia Gwinnett College brings student engagement practices with small class sizes, individual attention, remarkable facilities, a diverse and inclusive culture and student mentoring to enhance student success. Now our DR3AM RS know the opportunities this college offers them! Thank you Gwinnett College!
On July 13 th Our DR3AM RS Clubhouse Director, Henry Higuita, was invited by the Norcross Police Department to speak at the Hispanic Citizens Police Academy about our Recovery Support clubhouse and the services we offer at CETPA. Once again our DR3AM RS had the exciting opportunity to volunteer at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The teens worked diligently on food sorting, product rescue center and office work. Atlanta Community Food Bank every year works on distributing over 60 million meals to more than 775,00 people in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. They serve community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. The Food Bank utilizes more than 1,700 volunteers a month and our DR3AM RS are very thankful to be part of this mission, which is fighting against hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community!
As you can see the vegetables in the DR3AM RS garden continue to grow. We have tomatoes, sweet peppers, and flowers that grow each day a little more. The DR3AM RS have kept up the great work in maintaining the garden.
We also visited the Gwinnett Technical College, where our DR3AM RS had the opportunity to watch a presentation describing the programs the college offers for them in the future. The college offer programs that can be completed in two years or less. Certification is also available. They encouraged our teens to begin thinking about their future and exposed them to ideas for their future careers.

The DR3AM RS started a new project, and that s the making of a 1,000 piece puzzle. Our youth were very determined to do it. With this activity, they are trying to develop creativity as they learn to think outside the box, open their eyes to all the possible pathways, problem-solve perspectives, forge tolerance, engage in conversation, learning, and oculomotor skills.
The DR3AMRS had their first large order of customized products. Progressive Recycling ordered ten mouse pads and twenty mugs for the company. Each of our youth contributed time and effort to complete the order on time with the best quality. Our DR3AM'RS got the satisfaction of seeing a happy customer with these products!
WE MUSEUMS The DR3AM'RS enjoyed a Museum day. They visited two museums, the Federal Reserve Bank and the CDC Museum in Atlanta. We encourage our youth to develop a love for history, to compare and contrast, encourage questions, encourage new ideas and the last one: museums inspire. Museums inspire us to wonder, imagine and dream of possibilities that are beyond what we know.
