I. OPEN ISSUES IA) ADOPTION OF THE MEETING MINUTES MOVED, SECONDED AND UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED, THAT THE MEETING MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 7 TH, 2016 BE ACCEPTED BY COUNCIL, BE AND IS HEREBY, ACCEPTED AND APPROVED. IB) ADOPTION OF AGENDA The agenda needs to be updated before it can be accepted. Mr. Gairns will update the meeting minutes.

MOVED, SECONDED AND UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED, THAT THE DRAFT AGENDA (COPIED HEREIN AS APPENDIX A) BE UPDATED AND THEN ACCEPTED, AND IS HEREBY, ACCEPTED AND APPROVED. IC) MY DEFINITION My Definition is a Campaign that was started by Lee Thompson from UNB. It is to raise awareness of mental health and how you cannot le it define you. Mrs. Myers has sent her an email and is currently waiting for a response in hopes that Holland College Student Union will be able to do this project on their campuses. The plan is to start just after Christmas and lead all the way up to Mark Henick. ID) CHRISTMAS WEEK Christmas week will take place from December 2 nd to December 9 th, 2016. The ten titivate schedules are as followed: Prince of Wales: December 2- door decorating December 5- holiday music at lunch December 6- turkey dinner at lunch and a multicultural afternoon in the cafeteria December 7- play the movie The Grinch at lunch December 8- TBD, was going to do Candy cane Grams but Youth workers are doing that December 9- Ugly Christmas sweater contest at lunch, Christmas candy bar and coffee break at 2 and door judging. Waterfront Campus: Milk and cookies bar Hid gifts around the campus for people to find Trivia Candy canes to pass out Ugly Christmas sweater contest (Friday) Georgetown: Cutting a real Christmas tree down organized hockey game with a prize for the winning team Baked goods in the cafeteria Tourism and Culinery Centre : December 2- door decorating contest and something with the foodbank December 5- nothing December 6- gingerbread house decoratin and trivia December 7- hot chocolate bar and cupcake decorating and photo with santa

December 8- scavenger hunt December 9- ugly Christmas sweater and door decorating judging Waterfront Campus: December 2- gingerbread house decorating per class December 5- decorating a Christmas tree December 6- Cookies and trivia December 7- judging gingerbread houses December 8- Christmas wheel to win prizes December 9- Christmas movie at lunch There was a suggestion put out there that each time a student attends an event they get a ballet for a chance to win $1000 worth of giftcards. IE) MARK HENICK Mark Henick is tentatively schedule for February 14, 2017. It will take place in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall at approximately 1pm. It is free to all students and all Oral Communications students are being required to go as a part of their class. IF) GRAPHIC ARTS STUDENT A student who has been doing graphic arts work for the SU, has recently made it known that from now on he is expecting to be paid for all the posters he creates. It was the knowledge of Holland College Student Union that by giving him the password to our Adobe account that would be payment. It has been decided that the password will be pulled and if the Holland College Student Union decides they need the help they will contact the student and discuss payment options each individual time. IG) DANCE TEAM The Dance Team sent another email for a funding request. The originally asked for $2,000 and Holland College Student Union agreed to pay $1,000 for travel. They are requesting that Holland College Student Union help fund events. Mrs. Myers will communicate with them and let the Dance Team know that Holland College Student Union will help plan but not fund an event. *Update December 14, 2016 on the SU voted and unanimously decided to extend the funding to include taxes for the bus, spending no more than $1300 MOVED, SECONDED AND UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED, THAT THE DRAFT AGENDA (COPIED HEREIN AS APPENDIX A) BE UPDATED AND THEN ACCEPTED, AND IS HEREBY, ACCEPTED AND APPROVED.

IH) HALF TIME SHOW- ATHLETICS Athletics Director sent the Holland College Student Union and email and he would us to sponsor a half court throw at a men s national basketball game. Holland College Student Union requested that the individual teams such as the basketball team to come in and present to them in order to request the money wanted, in accordance to the HCSU by- laws. It is was also reiterated to Athletics, that the HCSU is not permitted to give sponsorships of lump sums of money. Athletics must request funds for specific reasons as does every other HC department. II) UP N UP Up N Up will be at TCC on December 5 and 6, PWC on December 7 and 8 and WFT on December 9. All VPs were asked to let their student associations know it was happening and to encourage everyone to go. IJ) WATERFRONT CAMPUS Everyone, especially Ms. Oulettelle, was asked to promote the new Nurse practitioner at the Summerside Waterfront campus. It was also mentioned that On Tuesday and Thursdays there will be a councilor for students in the same room as the Nurse Practitioner. IK) CHRISTMAS FAMILES Around this time of year people start to come to the Holland College Student Union in hopes that they will have ideas on where to give donations that they have raised for a family over Christmas around the campuses. It was asked that Everyong keep their eyes and ears open to see if they know of any good candidates for this Christmas. There was the suggestion of doing something for the food bank or creating gift baskets of Christmas dinner to help people enjoy the holidays. It was suggested to do $250 per campus and there could be a draw or someone who is in need of the help could be appointed to receive the gift. It was also suggested that the students of Holland College could be asked to nominate people who they think my need some help this Christmas season and the Holland College Student Union could have a list of names. A concrete number will be decided on then a plan will be made from there. IL) BOARD OF GOVERNERS ELECTION On Thursday, November 24, 2016 there are elections on SAM to vote in the next board of governors for Holland College. Both Mr. Langille and Ms. Oulettelle have been nominated and are running.

AJOURNMENT NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING DATE It was agreed that the next scheduled meeting of the Executive Council, would be on DECEMBER 6, 2016 AT 4:15PM IN ROOM 15C. IB) RULES ABOUT FINANCING CONTROVERSIAL CLUBS OR EVENTS Holland College Student Union does not fund religious, political or controversial clubs or events. MOVED, SECONDED AND UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED, THAT HOLLAND COLLEGE STUDENT UNION DOES NOT FUND RELGIOUS, POLTICAL, OR CONTROVERSIAL CLUBS OR EVENTS, AND IS HEREBY, ACCEPTED AND APPROVED.
