CIH South East Conference Awards 2016 8, 9 and 10 March 2016 The 2016 South East awards will form part of the CIH South East three day annual conference taking place in Brighton on 8, 9 and 10 March 2016. The awards ceremony and dinner will take place on the evening of 9 March at the Grand Hotel Brighton. The awards categories are: 1. New professional of the year (CIH Member) 2. Apprentice of the year 3. Exceptional contribution by a CIH Member (CIH Member) 4. Innovator or innovation of the year 5. Excellence in work and learning 6. Best outcomes achieved for residents 7. Development of the year Awards are now open for entry, with a closing deadline of midnight on 14 February 2016. For further information on the awards timetable, and details of how to book your place at the Awards Ceremony and Dinner please contact events@cih.org Entering the awards Please note that the deadline for submitting entries is midnight on 14 February 2016 You can submit a nomination either online (using the approved online forms found at www.cih.org/seawards or as a PDF documents to regions@cih.org by midnight on 14 February 2016. Late entries will not be accepted. Images can be submitted as part of your entry. All completed and returned entries will be acknowledged by e-mail within 48 hours (either automated or from regions@cih.org). If you do not receive an acknowledgement then please contact CIH Regional Support on 024 76 851700 to confirm receipt of your entry. Judging will take place by independent housing and business professionals as well as the CIH. Eligibility for entering the awards is that your organisation or you are based in either the South East region or you have completed successful projects in the South East area You can enter as an individual, team or organisation, please refer to individual categories
You can enter as many categories as you wish Please do not exceed the word limits If entering the new professional of the year award or exceptional contribution by a CIH member you must be a current CIH member The judges decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into or feedback given regarding the selection of short-listed nominations or winners CIH has the reserve the right to extend the closing deadline, amend categories or not award categories should the standard of entries received not reach the required standard Winning case studies may be used in post-event materials to promote future events or best practice. Entrants have the right to mark any information or sensitive parts of their entry as not for publication or distribution When submitting your entries please try to give as much relevant and concise information as possible. If you wish to support this with photographs then this is acceptable Attending the ceremony The winners will be announced at the 2016 awards ceremony and dinner at the Grand Hotel, Brighton on 9 March 2016. The evening will commence with a drinks reception at 6.30pm, followed by the awards ceremony and gala dinner and entertainment at 7.00pm. If you are shortlisted as a finalist for an award or awards you will be required to purchase a minimum of 2 dinner tickets for the evening at 90 + VAT each or a table of 10, which will cost 810 + VAT (Once tickets are purchased, a refund can not be given) Please register your interest by emailing the CIH events team at events@cih.org The SE Conference awards are not only about celebrating success, they are also an opportunity for organisations to learn from each other s work and to showcase successful initiatives, that they may be replicated by others in the sector. The evening will be a time to celebrate all those whose resilience and dedication have made a real difference to the lives of their residents and their local communities.
South East Awards 2016 Category details 1. New Professional of the year (CIH Member) This award will showcase, recognise and celebrate the successes of housing professionals at an early stage of their career and have normally worked in the housing industry for less than 3 years. This applies to individuals in substantive posts or trainee positions, both students and non-students are eligible. This award is designed to demonstrate that it doesn t matter what stage of your career you are at, you can achieve great success and achievements. The winner of this award will have: personally achieved outstanding success within their organisation and within the short period of time they have worked in the sector; taken personal responsibility and initiative for their career and professional development; and demonstrated that they are passionate and driven about housing and they are committed to ethics and professional standards for working in the sector. 2. Apprentice of the year This award recognises the contribution of apprentices across the housing sector. The award is open to any applicant undertaking an apprenticeship scheme or a traineeship, in any discipline and working within the housing sector. demonstrate their commitment to personal development with achievement and attainment in learning; through their contributions in the workplace, demonstrate that they have exceeded expectations and made a difference to the organisation they work in; and demonstrate some evidence of approaching day to day work with a positive outlook and demonstrating a willingness to be creative and innovative. Explain how the individual has developed as a result of their learning and as an apprentice (200 3. 7. Development of the year award This award is open to landlords, developers, builders and consultants who have developed an area in the South East region only, including social and/or affordable housing. The winning development will demonstrate: That it has met a specific housing need in the South East area High levels of design, sustainability and build quality Worked with the local community to ensure the creation of community facilities or employment opportunities for local people 1.
