CHANGE THE WORLD The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page. - ST. AUGUSTINE In his best selling book The World is Flat, Thomas Friedman argues that globalization has changed the way in which we view the world. A reality of life in the 21st Century is we are now connected, almost on a daily basis, with people from all over the world. As a response to our living in an increasingly global society, MQT encourages students to gain a heightened awareness and understanding of diverse languages, cultures and new developments related to globalization. Saint-Denis International School is located in Loches, France - just two hours from Paris. Loches is a medieval town situated in the Heart of the Loire Valley, in a quiet and safe environment. It is the ideal learning destination. Saint-Denis is a combined primary, middle and high school. The school welcomes students from over ten countries. The International Section of Saint-Denis is a forum of cooperation between the different nationalities present in the school, encouraging cultural diversity and individuality. Its objective is to enable French and foreign students alike to acquire cross curricular knowledge through learning subjects in a foreign language. This particularly helps to integrate foreign students into the French school system and allows them to have contact with young french people both inside school and within the boarding house environment. This is a full study abroad, semester-long opportunity. Students can spend three months studying abroad and receive between eight and ten credits. This program is extremely beneficial for those students looking to take their language and globalization skills to the next level. Students will study abroad from September to November. www.marquette-hs.org
