Lorain Soil & Water Conservation District Joel McRoberts Memorial Scholarship This is a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior who will be enrolled for the fall 2018 semester at a two or four-year college or university in Ohio as a full-time student enrolled in an agricultural or natural resource related field. Applicants must also be a Lorain County resident. Deadline is April 13, William D. Squires Educational Foundation, Inc Fifteen, $4,000 renewable scholarships are being offered to Ohio seniors. Eligibility is primarily based upon financial need. Applicants must be highly motivated, have good character, show

Educational Service Center, Wayne Ross Scholarship This is a $500 scholarship in honor of former Lorain County Educational Service Center Superintendent, Wayne Ross. Eligible students are high school seniors or college students enrolling in an accredited not-for-profit post-secondary institution majoring in a field related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics or business and are interested in a career in manufacturing. Deadline is May 15, The Herb Guild Garden Club Scholarship This scholarship is available to high school seniors as well as freshmen and sophomores attending LCCC or Tri-C.
The awarded amount typically is $1,500-$2,000. The areas of study that the scholarship will be awarded to are the study of horticulture, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, botany, landscaping, or culinary arts. Only students who are planning to pursue a major in one of these areas will be considered for the scholarship. College Now/ Manufacturing Scholarship This is a scholarship opportunity for graduating high school seniors and adult students who are interested in a training program, specifically in the field of manufacturing with the result leading to a license/certification or degree. Eligible students must be a resident of Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain or Summit County, have or will have a high school diploma or GED, will be attending an eligible non-degree program that is up to two years in length at a public or private not-for-profit college or university, technical/career or certified training center, demonstrate financial need, and NOT have a bachelor s degree. Deadline is April 15, UAW Local 1216 Scholarship Local 1216 is sponsoring two scholarships. An at-large scholarship, which will be drawn at random for $500, and an essay based scholarship for $1,000, awarded for the best essay written. Deadline is April 6, The Elyria Rotary Scholarship This is a privately funded scholarship to assist local students who are actively involved in community service and have shown success in academic endeavors. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and will be entering a baccalaureate institution full-time in the fall of 2018, and actively demonstrate "Service Above Self" through involvement in community service, volunteerism, and extra-curricular activities. As in previous years, one scholarship with a total value of $20,000, payable as $5,000 per year over four years, will be awarded. The additional $30,000 Exemplary Service Centennial Awards will be of various amounts based on merit. Centennial Awards will be paid as one-time awards for the 2018-19 academic school year.
