' December 5, 1991, the University College and General Education Commit' e discuss~d the Report of the General Education Task Forces and agreed that a broad discussion by members of the University of Rhode Island co' munity of the objectives of general education would be t~e appropriate ext step in the process. To that purpose, motions were made and subseqyently approved by the University College and General Education comlltittee to accept the 8 objectives on page 10 of the Task Forces' Repoit;~ and to circulate these objectives and.conduct hearings to allow for ' full discussion by internal and external constituencies.
