April 19 Child Health Conference Keynote Presentation The Impact of Trauma Dr. Tara Gill, staff psychologist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children s Hospital Center for Childhood Resilience. Dr. Gill received a bachelor s degree from Jackson State University and master s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology (child track) from DePaul University. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Chicago/LaRabida Children s Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in child and adolescent behavioral health. Dr. Gill joined Lurie Children s Center for Childhood Resilience in 2014. She has more than 15 years of experience in outpatient, community, hospital, and school-based mental health. Her work focuses on increasing best practices and capacity building with educators, community leaders, and other mental health professionals. Her particular interests in working with children from marginalized communities and trauma saturated backgrounds have guided her career to include advocacy, child welfare, policy, and community engagement. Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) 815-802-9320 Nutrition education, health screenings, and nutritious foods to eligible pregnant, postpartum or breast-feeding women and their infants and young children. Chronic and Communicable Disease Prevention 815-802-9430 Surveillance, investigation, education and prevention of infectious diseases. Clinic services include immunizations, TB skin testing, STD/HIV testing, and lead screenings. Many private insurances, as well as Medicaid and Medicare, are accepted for adults and children.
Registration information Pre-registration Pre-registration is required. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to check in before the workshop begins at the registration counter inside the Workforce Development Center entrance. Please note: In order to keep our workshop costs low, we do not provide lunch or afternoon refreshments. You are welcome to bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks with you.
