The Saint Paul s School Celebrity Waiters Dinner Broadway Musicals March 18, 2010 Over four hundred people attended Saint Paul s tenth annual Celebrity Waiters Dinner, sponsored by Saint Paul s Renaissance Board. The Broadway Musicals theme inspired many people to decorate their tables and come in costumes. Nearly fifty percent of the faculty volunteered for a variety of jobs to make the event run smoothly. Benedict s Plantation served appetizers and a full course meal with a mini Turkeyducken and crab cake as the entrée. Members of the Louisiana Philarmonic Orchestra entertained guests during the social period followed by our ever enthusiastic Marching Band. Our AFJROTC unit directed people to the student center and escorted Mrs. Phyllis Taylor, 2010 Honoree, throughout the evening. The live auction was definitely Lively. The high bid item was a one-week stay in Florence, Italy that sold for twelve thousand dollars. The event grossed over one hundred twenty-four thousand dollars. Group Projects. Page 8
Saint Joseph s Day Altar Held on Saint Paul s campus on Monday, March 15, 2010 The faculty and students of Saint Paul s were once again delighted by the magnificent presentation of a Saint Joseph s Altar in the Student Center organized by Ann Kay Logarbo, members of the Saint Paul s Mothers Cub, and friends of the school. The altar covered the front of the building and included all of the traditional foods, a chocolate rosary, flowers, candles and icons of the saints. A prayer request book was stationed at the front table where many teachers and students listed prayer request. Saint Joseph medals and the traditional fava beans were distributed there as mementos of the event. The students visited the altar during their Religion classes, and then were invited to a wonderful lunch provided by the altar workers. Every variety of traditional food was presented and consumed. The additional funds for the altar that were not used to purchase food were used to place a statue of Jesus on the second floor of the main classroom building. Everyone is appreciative of the enormous amount of work and the hours of labor volunteers donated to present this wonderful Sicilian tradition to Saint Paul s Group Projects.
