Entertainment & Technology Survey Scams Always be cautious when you see online pop up surveys or polls offering prizes or rewards for participation. These fraudulent pop ups use legitimate company names, such as MTCO, to deceive people into believing the survey or poll is legitimate. These frauds may steal personal information, and if you offer your credit card number, it may be stolen or you will receive a much larger charge for an item they are promising. Below is a screen shot of a recent fraudulent pop up that is showing up on Facebook. August TV Premieres & Specials CMA Music Festival Get ready to party! On Wednesday, August 3rd at 7 p.m., Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett will team up to host CMA Music Festival: Country s Night to Rock, a three-hour concert special on ABC. The hosts will be joined by some of country music s hottest acts on stage. Marlon Loosely inspired by the real life of star Marlon Wayans ( In Living Color, Scary Movie ), this update to the classic family comedy centers on a loving (but immature) father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. The show premieres on August 16th at 8 p.m. on NBC. The Great American Eclipse It s a first-time-in-99-years event and Science Channel will be there to cover it on Monday, August 21st. See sameday footage of the total solar eclipse from various destinations that span the continental U.S. Be assured that MTCO never approaches customers with offers or pop up surveys like this. If you question if something is from MTCO, just give MTCO a call at 800-859-6826 to verify its legitimacy. Black Partridge Public Day School The old Germantown Hills Elementary school at 100 Fandel Road is now home to Black Partridge Public Day School operated by Woodford County Special Education Association (WCSEA). WCSEA serves eight public school districts in Woodford County. Black Partridge Public Day School is a new public day therapeutic school specifically designed for students with behavioral and emotional needs. Their collaborative approach between educators, support staff, families, and community resources will allow for the best opportunity to meet the diverse needs of the students. Over the summer, the school was prepared for students to begin in August. In addition to the Black Partridge program, Easter Seals will be starting the Easter Seals Learning Academy, primarily for students with autism, as well as the Regional Office of Education Regional Safe School Program and Alternative School. They are excited about this collaborative partnership to serve students not only within Woodford County, but also students from surrounding counties. Emphasis Night At MTHS MTHS Emphasis Night will be held on Friday, August 18th at 6 p.m., showcasing all fall sports. Admission will be a canned food/non-perishable item.
