Visit the circulation desk to pick up an audio tour and map of the library s internationally recognized collection of art on display. See works by internationally renowned artists, including Alberto Giacometti, Käthe Kollwitz, Alexander Calder and Georges Braque. *A limited number of audio tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis. CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC INFORMATION SESSION The Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College is one of New York City s leading institutions, offering bachelor s degrees in music, music education, music performance and music composition. Students from the conservatory have graciously offered to perform for visitors. Times: A representative will be available from 11 11:50 a.m. in the auditorium. The Brooklyn Electronic Ensemble will perform at noon 12:50 p.m. An acoustic performance will accompany the information session at 1 1:50 p.m. Location: Woody Tanger Auditorium, Brooklyn College Library, first floor FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION SESSION More than two-thirds of Brooklyn College students receive some form of financial aid and hundreds of scholarships are available through the college. This session will provide students with an overview of federal and state aid as well as how to apply for scholarships. LIBRARY GUIDED TOURS Come check out the beautiful Brooklyn College Library with a Brooklyn College librarian. The library hosts CUNY s most technologically advanced collection. PREPARING FOR LAW SCHOOL Learn more about what an undergraduate needs to know to make the transition from student to law professional. Topics such as recommended undergraduate programs and LSAT preparation will be covered. Times: 11 11:50 a.m. and noon 12:50 p.m. Location: 120 Brooklyn College Library SCIENCE AND RESEARCH WORKSHOP Find out about the research that faculty members have been conducting in the fields of biology and chemistry. Ask current students and faculty about classes in the department, including support services offered to majors. THEATER DEPARTMENT INFORMATION SESSION Brooklyn College offers a B.A. and a B.F.A. in theater as well as a minor in the program. College faculty who are also working professionals in their fields will lead this information session. Students are welcome to take a tour of some of the sets, and the costume and scene shops to get a feel for what it takes to put on a production. VETERANS INFORMATION SESSION A representative from the Veteran Affairs and Counseling Center will be answering the questions of current and prospective veteran students who might not be aware of the services available to them. Topics of discussion will include how to apply as a veteran, a discussion of the post-9/11 GI Bill, and other benefits and entitlements. Time: 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Location: West Quad Center, second floor, in the academic fair CAREERS, INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND FINDING THE RIGHT MAJOR Find out about internship programs and other unique opportunities that are available through the Magner Center for Career Development and Internships. This workshop will also help students decide on one of the many undergraduate programs. PREPARING FOR CAREERS IN HEALTH PROFESSIONS Learn how to get the most out of the undergraduate experience in preparation for medical school. An adviser will discuss the pre-med track and what a student needs to know about preparing for a career in the health care industry, including interview prep, help with medical school applications and coursework planning. RESIDENCE HALL TOURS Take a guided tour with a Brooklyn College student to see a model room, the student lounge and exercise rooms.
