The Strategic Plan 2016-2019 has been drawn up to consolidate the goals of la Caixa Banking Foundation, projecting how we will work over the next few years to become even more effective in our commitment. We offer opportunities to the most vulnerable Child poverty We work together with more than 400 organisations throughout the country to help the most disadvantaged children (aged 0-18) and their families in their social and educational development. We promote a Business Alliance with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance to combat mortality in developing countries via child vaccination. 61,000 children attended 100,000 children vaccinated 46 million euros invested 196 partner companies Employment Through our programmes we help people at risk of social exclusion to find employment. 24,500 job opportunities 8,723 partner companies Housing We provide accommodation at rents below official social housing levels, as well as temporary homes and other rented social housing throughout Spain. 33,084 homes in total Comprehensive care for people with advanced diseases We assist people at the end of their lives as well as their relatives, providing psychosocial, emotional, social and spiritual support. 18,000 patients and 24,000 relatives covered 109 hospitals

Elderly people Through our centres (63 in-house and 549 via agreements), we promote active ageing and involvement in society, improving their quality of life and helping the elderly to avoid isolation. 800,000 participants 16,000 activities Volunteering We encourage people s commitment to society thanks to the collaboration of our volunteers. 13,000 volunteers Interculturality We promote a model of social intervention that fosters intercultural harmony among citizens and social cohesion. 220,000 participants 2,000 activities Fundación de la Esperanza We support the fight against poverty through its Community Centre, using innovative models of direct social action. Alliances against malaria and pneumonia Together with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and ISGlobal to eliminate malaria from southern Mozambique, and with Unicef for the early detection and treatment of pneumonia. 1,500 people attended 5.5 million euros invested Development programmes Projects for economic and social development in vulnerable countries, in collaboration with international and social organisations. 25 projects 21 countries

We promote progress through research and education Scholarships We support talented university graduates by giving them scholarships to take postgraduate studies abroad and doctorates in Spain. 191 scholarships granted Research We help to advance knowledge by supporting researchers and collaborating with leading medical research centres in diseases such as AIDS, cancer, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer s. 15.17 million euros invested Innovation for society We take part in creating new companies based on knowledge and research that add value to society. 15 technological innovation projects

We bring culture and knowledge closer to everybody CaixaForum Barcelona, Madrid, Palma, Zaragoza, Girona, Tarragona, Lleida Centres to disseminate culture and art open to the public and with an educational vocation for all ages and interests: we contribute to people s progress through culture. CosmoCaixa Barcelona Interactive science museum that helps to awaken an interest in science among young people and raise awareness of the latest breakthroughs in research.
