Florence Nightingale This is a portrait of Florence Nightingale. Read this text Florence Nightingale lived in the nineteenth century. She was a nurse. There was a war in the Crimea in Russia in 1854 56. NPG 1784 The war was between Russia and Great Britain. Florence Nightingale looked after the wounded soldiers. The hospitals were dirty.
