1. Using the scoring tables starting on page 244 of the rulebook, everybody is ranked, and everyone up to the 50 th place rider gets points: Rank - Pts Last Name First Name School 1 164 MCDONALD Zach University Of Washington-Seattle 2 146 SONNTAG Benjamin Fort Lewis College 3 130 KAPPIUS Braden University Of Colorado-Boulder 4 116 ISHAY Rotem Fort Lewis College 5 104 THOMPSON Eric Lees-McRae College 6 94 BRADLEY Patrick Rutgers University 7 86 COLE Brad Colorado State University 8 80 OMER Clayton Lindsey Wilson College 9 75 PEREZ Lucas Fort Lewis College 10 71 CARPENTER Gregory Fort Lewis College 11 68 DALE Christopher Lees-McRae College 12 65 GONDA Pavel New York University 13 62 BOGEDIN Christopher Lindsey Wilson College 14 59 DEKREY Jesse Fort Lewis College 15 56 LADD Taylor Lindsey Wilson College 16 53 CORBALIS Ben Lees-McRae College 17 50 PERLEY Bradford Lees-McRae College 18 47 BAUERS Sage California State University - Sacramento 19 44 HAILE Peter Lees-McRae College 20 41 SWITTERS Adam University Of California-Davis 21 39 DOYLE John Lees-McRae College 22 37 SPAUDE Kip Lindsey Wilson College 23 35 FELPEL Zach Lees-McRae College 24 33 KNUDSEN Peter University Of California-Davis 25 31 OAKES Aaron North Carolina State University 26 29 YOUNG Paul University Of Washington-Seattle 27 27 LOONEY Adam University Of Wyoming 28 25 CROW John North Carolina State University 29 23 LUZADDER Weston Marian College 30 21 VONBOKEL Logan Colorado State University 31 20 SWECKER Stefan Lindsey Wilson College 32 19 HEINE John University Of New Mexico 33 18 HAMLIN Chris University Of Vermont 34 17 LEIBOVITZ Adam Marian College 35 16 FERRON Joseph Oregon State University 36 15 DENGEL Joe Oregon State University 37 14 PETERSON Mitchell University Of Utah 38 13 DARWICK Tim Pennsylvania State University 39 12 JOHNSON Nils University Of California-Davis 40 11 SANTAMARIA Anthony University Of California-Davis

2. Then each school receives the points of their top three riders: School 1 st 2 nd 3 rd Total Fort Lewis College 146 116 75 337 Lees-McRae College 104 68 53 225 University Of Washington-Seattle 164 29 193 Lindsey Wilson College 80 62 56 198 University Of Colorado-Boulder 130 130 Rutgers University 94 94 Colorado State University 86 21 107 New York University 65 65 University Of California-Davis 41 33 12 86 California State University - Sacramento 47 47 North Carolina State University 31 25 8 64 University Of Wyoming 27 27 Marian College 23 17 4 44 University of New Mexico 19 10 29 University of Vermont 18 18 Oregon State University 16 15 2 33 University of Utah 14 14 Pennsylvania State University 13 13 California Polytechnic-San Luis Obispo 7 7

3. Then they are ranked based on those totals, and assigned points based on that ranking (at this point we discard those total rider points from above, right): Rank - Pts School 1 94 Fort Lewis College 2 83 Lees-McRae College 3 73 Lindsey Wilson College 4 64 University Of Washington-Seattle 5 56 University Of Colorado-Boulder 6 49 Colorado State University 7 43 Rutgers University 8 38 University Of California-Davis 9 34 New York University 10 31 North Carolina State University 11 29 California State University - Sacramento 12 27 Marian College 13 25 Oregon State University 14 23 University of New Mexico 15 21 University Of Wyoming 16 19 University of Vermont 17 17 University of Utah 18 15 Pennsylvania State University 19 13 California Polytechnic-San Luis Obispo

4. Then the same process is repeated for each race (for example, that was for the men s D1 cx race, and here is the final scoring table for the women s D1 cx race): Rank - Pts School 1 st 2 nd 3 rd Total 1 94 Fort Lewis College 164 130 104 398 2 83 Lees McRae College 116 94 80 290 3 73 Lindsey Wilson College 146 53 50 249 4 64 Marian College 62 59 35 156 5 56 California State University - Sacramento 86 86 6 49 University of California - Davis 75 75 7 43 Washington State University 71 71 8 38 University of Washington- Seattle 47 47 9 34 Utah State University 39 39

5. Then each team gets the sum of those points, giving you a total and a ranking: Rank School W M TOTAL 1 Fort Lewis College 94 94 188 2 Lees-McRae College 83 83 166 3 Lindsey Wilson College 73 73 146 4 University Of Washington-Seattle 38 64 102 5 Marian College 64 27 91 6 University Of California-Davis 49 38 87 7 California State University - Sacramento 56 29 85 8 University Of Colorado-Boulder 56 56 9 Colorado State University 49 49 10 Rutgers University 43 43 11 Washington State University 43 43 12 New York University 38 38 13 Utah State University 34 34 14 North Carolina State University 31 31 15 Oregon State University 25 25 16 University of New Mexico 23 23 17 University Of Wyoming 21 21 18 University of Vermont 19 19 19 University of Utah 17 17 20 Pennsylvania State University 15 15 21 California Polytechnic-San Luis Obispo 13 13 5a. Sometimes, two teams will score the same total points (take Rutgers and Washington State, above, for example). When this happens, we go back a couple steps to see which school scored more 1 st place finishes. In this case, neither team did, so we see which school scored more 2 nd place finishes. Again, neither team did, so we keep doing this down to 5 th place. Still a tie. Now we compare which team had the highest placing over the course of the whole event. In this case, the best-placed Rutgers rider took 6 th in the Men s race, and the best that Washington State placed was 10 th in the women s race. So Rutgers gets 10 th overall, winning the tie breaker.

6. So that s the Team Omnium. For the National Rankings, we go one step further, and assign a new layer of points, discarding the actual team points from the right, above: Rank School Pts 1 Fort Lewis College 20 2 Lees-McRae College 19 3 Lindsey Wilson College 18 4 University Of Washington-Seattle 17 5 Marian College 16 6 University Of California-Davis 15 7 California State University - Sacramento 14 8 University Of Colorado-Boulder 13 9 Colorado State University 12 10 Rutgers University 11 11 Washington State University 10 12 New York University 9 13 Utah State University 8 14 North Carolina State University 7 15 Oregon State University 6 16 University of New Mexico 5 17 University Of Wyoming 4 18 University of Vermont 3 19 University of Utah 2 20 Pennsylvania State University 1 21 California Polytechnic-San Luis Obispo 0 7. Then each school s points are summed together from each national championship, and you have the national team rankings. Voila! (now repeat for Division II)
