At the Annual Meeting on January 9, 2017 at Green Acres Restaurant, the 2017 Board of Directors was put into place and the 2017 Budget was approved. In addition, 60 plus members in attendance watched the year in review for the Alumni created by Cathy Jo Schreiber and heard from Troy Talford on the current Agriculture Education program and school remodel project. Sam Peetz spoke on his trip to Australia for Collegiate Judging Competition of which he and Rachel Leege took part and their team placed second. Hearing from Sauk Prairie s past agriculture education students and scholarship recipients is rewarding as we see and hear about accomplishments they reach and what their future possibilities are.

Wisconsin FFA Alumni 37 TH Annual State Convention Section 6 and Section 10 were the hosting committee of this year s 37 th Annual Convention. Chairman of the committee was BJ Chrisler of the Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni who had help from his affiliate. Sauk Prairie was a Silver Level Sponsor of the convention called Renew Your Purpose. CONSIGNMENT SALE MUDDY MESS MARCH 4, 2017 Just as last year, the grounds were very muddy for the auction attendees to walk through on Saturday, March 4. The day began with the sale of smaller items and ended around 4 pm with large equipment sold last. Thank you to Gavin Brothers for doing a great job selling and to Brad Anderson and Scott Davis and Honey Creek Snowmobile Club members who worked the day of and weekends at the park accepting equipment for the sale. It was cold for all volunteers that day who didn t have appropriate foot cover and we thank all of the food tent and field volunteers for toughing it out. Top (l-r) Mark Ladsten, Dale Breunig, Tanner Breunig, in fryer house is Tom Breunig, Terry Slotty, and Tim Enge outside. Below is a crowd picture of the grounds. FFA AWARD BANQUET ENJOYABLE EVENING MARCH 14, 2017 This year at the FFA Awards Dinner everyone enjoyed a grilled pork chop dinner catered by TJ S Catering. The FFA Chapter decorated the high school commons area festively and a live pie auction done by the Chapter added to the evening s fun. Alumni President Brad Anderson and Vice President Tim Enge handed out the scholarship awards from the Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni. After dinner the awards ceremony moved to the River Arts Center. Every year the Alumni pays for all Proficiency Awards and the Alumni Board of Directors hands each one out on stage so the students realize where the funding comes from. This year s proficiency award plaques and $50 were sponsored by the SP FFA Alumni along with the runner-ups receiving a certificate and $25. Over 30 pans are baked, icing put on top and the thank you attached. Thank you volunteers Kathy Hartmann-Breunig, Tim Enge, Nancy Liegel, and Joel Hacker for making this project happen National Ag Day, March 21, 2017. Pictured at the right is recipient (l-r) Dennis Frey, Alumni member Nancy Liegel, and Jenny Frey of Fair Valley Performance. SPORTSMEN BANQUET COMMITTEE BUSY PLANNING 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT Pictured left and up around the table are Mike Dunse, Lisa Evet, Tina Rachein, Craig Raschein, Frank Kuzma, Troy Talford. The Sportsmen Committee has been busy preparing for the 10 Year Anniversary of the local Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni Sportsmen Banquet. Committee members met in February to prepare dinner ticket letters for mailing. The deadline for all responses was March 3. At that time any open spots would be offered to the next one on the current waiting list. For the 10 th Anniversary the membership voted in January to have a drawing of a mule available only to the current ticket holders. The volunteers have already been penciled in to work the evening of the event. Contact Mike Dunse if you want to volunteer that evening. Thank you to the committee for their time spent planning this successful fundraiser. 9
