Situation. Palm Bay Magnet High Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Cadets from Melbourne, FL, comprised of 30 members has requested an orientation visit to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (MCRDPI). They will observe and participate in limited training events which will provide students with an understanding of The United States Marine Corps basic entry level training. 2. Mission. MCRDPI will host and provide support for an orientation visit by 30 personnel from Palm Bay Magnet High School MCJROTC from 5-7 July aboard the installation IOT introduce them to Marine Corps basic training through participation in limited training events and activities. 3. Execution a. Commander s Intent. The MCJROTC program mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. ISO that mission MCRDPI will allow the cadets to observe and participate in training events that will support the effort to instill the listed values, and that will also enhance their motivation, drive, determination, leadership, and teambuilding skills. While the MCJROTC program is not a Recruiting program, I want to ensure that the cadets, their leaders, as well as their chaperones are introduced to the benefits of service in the Marine Corps to include our unique training, and have the opportunity to meet and interact with our professional Recruit Training and Recruiting personnel. My desired end state is that we have supported the MCJROTC mission, that this unit leaves MCRDPI with a positive impression of Parris Island, our training, our personnel, and that all members of their group have gained an appreciation for the Marine Corps and service to our Nation. b. Tasks (1) Commanding Officer, Recruit Training Regiment. (a) Provide one (1) Drill Instructor escort for the duration of the visit. The escort must be able to discuss the details of recruit training operations and answer related questions. Report the name of the escort to the G-3 Visits SNCOIC NLT 1200 on Friday, 30 June.
(b) Provide all personnel briefs and demonstrations for obstacle course, receiving, Iwo Jima, Purple Heart, and confidence course. (c) Provide billeting for the group (20 males, 10 females and 3 chaperones) IAW encl (1). Report the location of the billeting to the G-3 Visits SNCOIC NLT 1200 on Thursday, 1 June. (2) Commanding Officer, Weapons Field Training Battalion. Provide all personnel briefs and demonstrations for the, rappel tower, gas chamber, observe live fire and ISMT. (3) Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3. Serve as staff lead for planning and coordination of the event. (4) Assistant Chief of Staff, G-4 (a) Coordinate with SODEXO to provide messing for the group (53 personnel) IAW encl (1). (b) Provide linens and blankets for the group (53 personnel) to be picked up by the escort NLT 1200 on Friday, 30 June. 4. Administration and Logistics. a. The uniform for the escort is the uniform of the day. b. The escort will meet Palm Bay High School MCJROTC in the back parking lot of the PX at the predetermined time IAW encl (1). c. Palm Bay High School MCJROTC will be providing their own transportation. Their transportation is not authorized to drop the group at the chow hall. The transportation has to park at the basketball courts next to Four Winds and the group will be marching to the dining facility. d. In the event of adverse incidents, accidents, injuries, etc, escorts will provide a SITREP to AC/S G-3 immediately following an incident. Do not delay reporting if waiting on information. Relay an incomplete report with details known at the time and follow up as information becomes available. e. Recruit training takes priority over all other events. Brief all changes to the training schedule that may affect or impact the visit to the G-3 visits section as soon as the problem becomes known. f. Upon the arrival of Palm Bay High School MCJROTC, the escort will collect the "hold harmless" agreement forms. Every student must have a properly completed form, signed by a parent or legal guardian (if a minor) in order to participate in physical events. g. Medical support for all non-active duty military members will be Medic 1 with evacuation to Beaufort Memorial Hospital. h. NLT 1200 Friday, 7 July, linen is to be turned into depot laundry where a one-for-one exchange will occur. The fresh linen acquired from depot laundry is then to be turned in to 500A for storage. i. AARs from the visiting schools and the escort will be turned into the G-3 Visits Officer NLT 1600 on Monday, 17 July. 2
j. In case of inclement weather, all personnel will move to the nearest overhead shelter and perform appropriate safety measures. k. The escort will call Recruit Training Regiment prior to conducting any physical activities for flag conditions. 5. Command and Signal a.
