"A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Next Club Meetings Nov.. 28 @ 6:30 INDOOR RANGE Greetings All, President s Message As of this writing we are a little past the middle of big game hunting season. Club Director Earl Moore and crew are wrapping up another successful hunter sight in held prior to the beginning of each big game season. Also Norm Bowie has held the Jr. Shooter Safety orientation and that will be starting very soon. Another heritage event at our facility is the fall and spring pistol league which is an event I would encourage anyone interested in developing their hand gun skills to attend. Contact Hal Shepherd or Roger Lawrence for more information. We have had an incident at our outdoor range involving someone changing out the Flag that has been flying for the past year. It just so happens that this Flag was a casket Flag and the personal property of a club member. The local VFW Honor Guard maintains the role of evaluating Flag condition and retiring the flags at our facility. If you have our Flag, we need it back. Anyone with any information please contact me @ 970-739-8886 if there is no answer, please leave a message. As we hear more and more of horrific acts of violence committed by deranged individuals using vehicles, guns or whatever is handy to them, I fear that many of us have become complacent about our own personal safety and defense. I want to strongly encourage everyone to maintain a concealed carry permit, make an attempt to obtain the proper training, and equip yourself to counter a situation should one ever occur in your presence. Last, but not least, I would like to strongly encourage every club member to participate in our upcoming club elections, in whatever capacity possible.and at the very least Please Cast your vote either in person at the Feb meeting election, by using the ballot that will be sent to you in the newsletter, or print one off from the website and mail it in.

In closing, as always, please be verbal, outgoing, and positive in supporting the 2 nd. Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America and Promote Proper Respect to our National Anthem. John also had the most match wins on the season (11 out of possible 36), and the highest score for a single event (14 out of a possible 19 points in Event 2). The high score for the season was 50-4X set by Gary Kyle (twice), Louis Prestwood and Jameson Torres, always at 100yds. Congratulations to John and thanks to all participants for a competitive season; and a special thanks to Larry Percell for doing much of the organization this season. The Benchrest organizers are working on possibly adding a long range rimfire event for the 2018 season if there is enough interest.
