4-H Friday Update January 17, 2014 WSU Grant-Adams Area Extension Hello Everyone, Friday Update Archives Grant-Adams Area 4-H Calendar 4-H Publications & Projects Catalog Interactive Records & Forms Youth Livestock Producers 4-H Volunteer Hours Database E-Learning for 4-H Volunteers Frequently Requested Forms, Publications & Information I hope you were one of the 140 participants at Super Saturday last weekend. It was a good day. I believe many of us learned something and had fun, too. A big thank you to all of the volunteers and presenters that made the day so good!! Mark your calendar next year for January fun; it is a day to be remembered. Area III hosted the Lion s dinner this week. The crew of 4-H members and leaders were excellent. Everyone worked very hard to make it a gala occasion. Diana s prime rib was very good. Dick s skills in coaching the kids on how to serve paid off. Thanks to everyone in Area III that made the night possible. A fundraiser to help your group as well as build rapport in the community is a good thing. I am sure your scholarship money gained that evening will be appreciated. Reba McEntire Congratulates ExtensIon's 100 Years on YouTube and Makes a Great Endorsement of 4-H! Country music singing star Reba McEntire congratulated Cooperative Extension s 100 years on YouTube!. You can see the YouTube video at: http://bit.ly/19x12w3 Take a look at what Pend Orielle County is doing. YouTube Video Link from Mike Jensen, WSU Pend Oreille Extension County Director http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaa5mdxnk9m This is a quick video challenge that we posed to our KYG group. We have an opportunity to request some local funds to help reduce the costs to participants. As the CED/4-H Agent, I am willing to ask for the community investments, but wanted the potential donors to hear from our team. They put this together in about 20 minutes. I asked a few key questions regarding what they thought was the benefit of participation in KYG for them, and what they thought the benefit was to the community. I shot the video, and pieced it together for them using Microsoft Movie Maker. We will use the video with a Rotary presentation and a request to the PO County 4-H Leader Council. The County Commissioners also have asked to view it. Quick, easy, and hopefully effective. Important Dates & Information (Download pdf HERE) 4-H Volunteer time reported Report each month.
