Military Survivor Appreciation Week 11-1 The 101 st Airborne Division (AASLT) Fort Campbell and Army Community Service (ACS) Survivor Outreach Services (SOS), will host the annual Military Survivor Appreciation Week (MSAW) from 11SEP-16SEP17, at various locations on post in order to reinforce the Army s commitment to our Families of the Fallen. Approximately 150 Surviving Family Members from all of Tennessee and Kentucky attend. Historically, FMs have travelled from as far as CA, AK. After Deployment Adaptive Parenting Tools (ADAPT) Study Program Overview Families will be assigned to complete a parenting program (on-line or workshop setting) Main focus is on positive parenting interactions Problems solving and effective communication skills Topics covered include encouragement (chore charts), limit setting (time out), and problems solving Participating families have reported: Improved couple relationships Improved child and parent resilience Better sense of control of their children More effective discipline strategies And a reduction in child behavior problems

After Deployment Adaptive Parenting Tools (ADAPT) Study Participation Overview All will attend a two-day workshop OR 12 module self-directed on-line course Some families will randomly be assigned to attend 3 short follow up sessions 5 online surveys will be sent throughout the course of the study via e-mail link There will be three in person interviews (prior to beginning parenting program, after 12 months, after 24 months) Families can earn up to $520 in gift cards for participating varying amounts will be given at the completion of each activity, not at the end of the study Service members need not participate, spouses can sign up to participate on their own Participation last for 2 years (ETS/PCS is okay!) Participation is voluntary and families can withdraw at any time

American Red Cross, Disaster Services Disaster Response for Hurricane Harvey for Texas, Louisiana, and areas in the path The American Red Cross has responded to the disaster with more than 1500 volunteer so far, have shelter supplies for 50,000 people and more enroute, 6 mobile kitchens to produce 10,000 meals a day, currently 116,000 ready to eat meals and more enroute Currently there are 32,000 people in shelters

American Red Cross, Disaster Services The outpouring of support from the community has been tremendous and we wanted to thank everyone for their continued generosity. IN Kind Donations: We are currently not accepting in-kind donations. It takes time and money to store, sort, clean, transport and distribute donated items, which diverts limited time and resources away from helping those most affected. In contrast, financial donations can be accessed quickly to support those affected, may help stimulate the surrounding local communities, and be put to use right away. With a financial donation, essential supplies can be purchase for those affected. To make a financial donation visit redcross.org call 1-800- REDCROSS or text Harvey to 90999.

American Red Cross, Disaster Services Sound the Alarm, Save a Life program, from September 23 to October 15, 2017 Join the American Red Cross and 35,000 volunteers in more than 100 communities across the country to install over 100,000 smoke alarms in an event called Sound the Alarm, Save a Life, part of the Home Fires Campaign. The dates will include the National Fire Prevention Week (October 8 14) as well as align with FEMA America s PrepareAthon Day of Action (September 30). The Home Fire Campaign has saved two lives right here in Clarksville! The Clarksville event occurs September 23rd from 8am-1pm. Training Provided.
