Service Excellence Awards Congratulations to this month s Service Excellence Award Winners! JENNIFER SARGENT has been selected as the MAY winner of the TJRH Service Excellence Award for COMPASSION! RANDY KINGREY has been selected as the MAY winner of the TJRH Service Excellence Award for being a T.J. CHAMPION! According to the values of the TJ Pledge, we show compassion by: Seeing all patients, family members, visitors, coworkers, physicians, and anyone else at TJ as my customer. Recognizing that each and every interaction I have a TJ Regional Health matters Showing kindness and compassion towards my customers at all times Being sensitive to the personal and private needs of every customer. Jennifer was recognized for showing these qualities and more every day. The following submission was received: Jennifer Sargent has shown great compassion over the past two months. When the husband of Suzette Ferren passed away, Jennifer stepped up and worked every day she was available to work, even giving up a full weekend. When the time came for Suzette to come back to work, Jennifer asked to be scheduled with Suzette to help her through her first few weeks. Jennifer has not wavered when it comes to doing anything and everything for her team members, never once complaining or tiring and has been a Rock Star helping Suzette transition back into a routine. Suzette has the following to say: When I returned to work after the death of by husband, I was fortunate to be scheduled with Jennifer Sargent for the first week back. Jennifer knew this was going to be hard on me and was right there beside me with a helping hand. Jennifer did more than her fair share of the work that week, but never let on like she was doing anything different. She came supplied with Kleenex, hugs, and plenty of encouraging words. I believe Jennifer has shown what compassion is all about. According to the values of the TJ Pledge, a TJ Champion is someone who: Serves with passion Views their self as an owner of TJ Regional Health and acts accordingly Takes responsibility for the physical appearance of TJ Regional Health, including their work area Goes out of their way to daily thank and compliment their customers and coworkers Dares to make a difference and be exceptional Constantly tries to improve their self and TJ Regional Health Speaks positively about TJ Regional, while at work and in public places outside of work. Randy was recognized for exhibiting the characteristics of a TJ Champion. The following submissions were received: Randy is always coming to work with a smile on his face. He never complains about anything we ask him to do. He is always generous and goes above and beyond for the staff. Randy would do anything for you and does a fantastic job every day. He protects and serves TJ Samson well and is truly a champion to everyone who encounters him. (Submitted by Katie Davis, Urgent Care) No matter the situation, Randy is always calm, helpful, and never complains. He is always making sure we are taken care of. On busy days he will bring us a snack or a treat when we haven t had time to sit down. At night when we leave, (whether its late, dark, snowing, or raining) he makes sure we get to our cars or brings them to us. He is an excellent employee and always makes my day better. (Submitted by Ashley Froedge) Congratulations to JENNIFER and RANDY, and THANK YOU for the excellent service you provide to your patients at TJRH every day! If you would like to nominate someone for a Service Excellence Award, you may fill out a nomination form on the intranet, print the form in this newsletter, or pick up a form outside the cafeteria.

Shopping Event WALMART CLINIC, MELISSA TAYLOR AND BETH COOPER OIG recertification inspection recently took place at the Clinic at Walmart. The inspector found the clinic with no deficiencies. Special thanks to Melissa Taylor and Beth Cooper for getting records over for review. Great job, team! PAT SPEARS When I first moved here from WI in January, I was a bit concerned about the possible rapport my new doctor and I would have at TJ Pavilion because of my hearing and comprehension difficulties, plus considerable medical file. But Pat Spears was right from the start. So warm and welcoming and she took the time to listen and gave me very knowledgeable advice. She is terrific and very comforting. LISA DEVORE I was worried that the first appointment I would have here, after moving from WI would be a little scary, but Lisa Devore immediately set me at ease. She was so pleasant and cheerful. She was patient with me and allowed me to fill her in on my medical background. T.J. Samson South Lobby FRIDAY, JUNE 15 {7 AM to 6 PM} 10% of all pre-tax sales will be donated to the AUXILIARY PROGRAM DR. MICHAEL SARIDAKIS I had been worried for some months before I moved about my possible need for a colonoscopy. Dr. Saridakis started talking to me with such a calming and friendly voice. He was soothing the entire visit and just as friendly and caring at the hospital during my procedure.

Tasty Treats Week 11: Planning in your Treats Don't get the false idea that losing weight or improving your health means avoiding tasty treats from here until eternity. Your best bet is to plan in some treats at regular intervals so you don't feel deprived and set yourself up for unexpected disappointment. When considering how to incorporate treats, keep the following in mind! Time frame. Set a time frame around your treats. Experiment with every 2-4 weeks. This way, it's not every week, but not so infrequent it's unrealistic. Commit to trial and error. Try recipes with just a hint of something sweet. Try trail mix with a few tablespoons of chocolate chips or nuts with a drizzle of maple syrup. Don t throw all you know out the window. Search for desserts that have minimal additives or chemicals. Look for treats that include real ingredients like nuts, seeds, or chocolate, not a long list of things you can't pronounce. Make your own. Your safest bet is to make your own treat. If the recipe calls for you to make more servings than needed for just yourself, cut the recipe in half and give most of it away. Know Yourself As you continue your health journey and learn your own tendencies, set parameters around your treats that work best for you. Saturdays. Perhaps your treats are only on a weekend day. Once a month birthday. You could use your birth date (for example, the 22nd of each month) as your one day a month to eat whatever you choose. Only homemade. You may want your treats to only be the ones you make. This way, you have more time to truly consider if the treat is worth all your time and effort, rather than just grab the first donut or cupcake in sight. Healthy Treat Ideas Start making your list of healthy treats you can look forward to in the coming weeks. Try these! Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies Dark chocolate cherry oatmeal cookies Mini strawberry cheesecake bites Fit for Life Health and Wellness Center 1006 Glenview Drive Mon/Tue/Thu 7am 4pm Glasgow, KY 42141 Wed 7am-5pm 270-361-5069 Fri 7am 3pm
