Return these forms to the office by January 25 th.

Lincoln-Way Open House Wednesday, February 14 th at Lincoln-Way East Lincoln-Way will provide additional information Allow 15 minutes for parking Students and parents should attend.

Eighth Grade Portraits Pictures will be taken on February 8 th by Lifetouch Photography. Proofs go home with students in March. Watch for email. Make-up date is March 15 th. School appropriate attire. Boys shirt and tie, Girls - dress OPTIONAL order Composite Class Picture $10

8 th Grade Awards Assembly Friday, May 18 th at 1:00 p.m. Parents are invited if child will be receiving an award. All 8 th grade students attend Awards are presented

Banquet All qualifying eighth grade students are invited. Tuscany Falls Banquet Hall on Thursday, May 24 th Students should not have a date. Family Style Dinner (salad, beef, chicken, whipped potatoes, mostaccioli with marinara sauce, corn, ice cream, lemonade and water) 6:00 8:30 p.m. Parent drop-off 5:30 p.m. and pick-up 8:45 p.m. Dressy (not formal) occasion Must attend school that day to attend banquet

Great America Trip Wednesday, May 30 th Chaperoned trip by our staff Students select their own group Attire (class t-shirts) & Expectations Students may not visit the waterpark All-you-can-eat picnic lunch included (fried chicken, hot dogs, pickles, potato chips, pasta salad, ice cream, Coca-Cola products) Money for games, snacks, and souvenirs Depart 8:15 a.m., return 8:00 p.m. Students may not walk home after trip

8 th Grade Picnic, Cap and Gown, & Yearbook Distribution Thursday, May 31 st Graduation practice in the morning Yearbooks are distributed 8 th grade picnic/celebration (Thank you, SCO!) Graduation cap and gown distributed Tuesday, May 22 nd (tentative)

Graduation Ceremony Friday, June 1 st at 7:00 p.m. Graduates arrive at 6:00 p.m. at LWE Dressy Attire Dresses, dress shoes Dress pants, dress shirt, tie, dress shoes Both graduates and audience members will find that high-heeled shoes are difficult to walk in and may be dangerous. Caps and gowns Absolutely NO shorts, flip-flops, gym shoes, jeans, sweats or t - shirts. Students will not be included in the ceremony if students are not dressed appropriately Filmed (DVD for optional purchase through The Sterling Group)

Ceremony Etiquette Graduation is a rite of passage and celebration worthy of recognition. As a courtesy to the graduates and guests, people engaging in disruptive or other inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave No use of artificial noise makers (horns or whistles) or whistling or yelling that interfere with the reading of names during the ceremony Corsages or boutonnières are not worn by the graduates Flowers are okay AFTER the ceremony. No use of cell phones or flash photography Balloons cause visibility concerns, so keep them as an at-home gift. Parents and guests may not stand along side or behind the graduate seating.

Graduation Tickets 6 tickets (4 green-gymnasium & 2 gray-live feedauditorium) are given along with the information packet Ceremony is held in the Gymnasium Each person entering the ceremony must have a ticket. Parking is limited please carpool & arrive early

SHEF Graduation Raffle TWO WINNERS: Upgrade your 4 regular tickets to VIP Seating Tickets Two VIP parking spots to each winner Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 On sale now through May 1 st Winners to be announced the week of May 15 th

Participation in end-of-the-year activities All end-of-the-year activities (banquet, Great America, awards ceremony, picnic/yearbook signing, and graduation ceremony) are privileges Determined on a case-by-case basis Students and parents are informed each step of the way Behavioral disciplinary consequences, attendance, and poor grades determine participation

Requirements Attendance: Must have a 90% attendance rate for the second semester. Only medical documentation is excused from this criteria. Passing all 4 th Quarter Classes: One failing grade = removal of one activity Two failing grades = removal of two activities Three failing grades = no activities Maintain an overall qualifying GPA of 1.75 for the entire school year Demonstration of appropriate behavior (No major behavioral incidents) Activities are removed by the chronological order in which the event is scheduled.

Major Behavioral Offenses Fighting or aggressive physical contact Non-compliance with directives from staff Disrespect towards school personnel Obscene language, materials, gestures, or behavior (including online) Disorderly conduct Bullying, hazing, intimidation, harassment, disrespect due to discrimination, etc. (including online). Possession of, distribution of drugs/alcohol/cigarettes or any substance represented to be drugs or alcohol

Major Behavioral Offenses Continued: Destruction, vandalism, defacing school property Excessive horseplay Weapons Public display of affection or indecent behavior Theft Arson Bus-related referrals False emergency calls, fire alarm Academic dishonesty
