Harvest Tables Donated The Kennebunk High School Alternative Education Program, lead by Ed Sharood, coordinated, planned, built and delivered two 8 x4 x4 harvest tables to the West Kennebunk Community Garden. The funds for the tables came from the Town s budget for the community garden. The tables will be used for the harvesting and preparation of the Maine Harvest for Hunger donations to the food pantries we serve. Last year, donations totaling over 5,300 pounds of fresh produce were made to the area s food pantries. This year marks the 9 th year of the Kennebunk Community Gardens. We'd like to thank Ed Sharood and the students of the Alternate Education Program for their hard work in planning and building the tables. They will certainly serve the community well. As we recognize the students of the Alternate Education Program, we also extend our deep appreciation to the Community Garden Committee members for their tireless and dedicated service to the Kennebunk community. b. Proclaim the Month of May as Building Safety Month Paul Demers, Kennebunk's Code Enforcement Officer and President of the Maine Building Officials and Inspectors Association (MBOIA), is requesting the Town of Kennebunk proclaim May as Building Safety Month (BSM) as part of a national event sponsored through the International Code Council. The purpose of the Building Safety Month is to bring attention to the benefits of the building codes and the role they play in safe construction. Paul will be in attendance to provide additional details and an overview of the potential State Building Code updates that play an important part of the Town s ISO rating. This same request has been made to the Governor s office and has received his preliminary support letter recognizing the importance of strong codes in our State. The Proclamation is enclosed in the packet for your review and will be posted at the Town Hall (2nd floor bulletin board), on our website (News & Announcements) and on our Facebook page.
