Scholarship Eligibility Requirements, Application & Timeline The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), in conjunction with our corporate partners, is pleased to award over $10,000 in scholarship funds to qualifying minority undergraduate, graduate, and high school Leaders of Tomorrow students. The National Black MBA Association s (NBMBAA) Scholarship Program has been in existence since 1985. Our scholarship program awards scholarships to outstanding minority students in good academic standing who are pursuing graduate management/business degrees. Recipients also demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to their communities. This year, the Cleveland Northeast Ohio (NEO) Chapter will award over $10,000 in total scholarships to our undergraduate, graduate and Leaders of Tomorrow students in the amounts of $1,000, $1,500, and $2,500. Completion of one application will qualify applicant to be considered a candidate for listed scholarships, although applicant can only be awarded one scholarship award. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS! Be a minority student.! Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time accredited business or management-related program, during the fall semester (Aug/Sept) of 2017, or the winter semester (Jan) 2018 working towards an undergraduate or master s degree.! Be enrolled in a college or university in the United States.! Be a member of the NBMBAA Cleveland NEO Chapter upon notification of being selected as a finalist and participate in events and limited public relations activities.! Be available to attend the scholarship awards reception on Monday, December 4, 2017. INTENT TO APPLY! National Black MBA Association, Inc. Scholarship Eligibility Requirements, Application & Timeline ESSAY AND RESUME REQUIREMENTS! Send one email that includes a three-page typed essay (double spaced, 12 point font) and current resume.! Essay should address the following topic: How will your degree serve as impetus for change in your life, the African American community, and your country? Describe any examples of leadership, community service and other personal characteristics that make you deserving of this scholarship.! Attach two copies of a two to three-page, typed essay (double spaced, 12 point font). One essay should include a cover page with essay title and student s name and the other without the student s name.! Essays will be critiqued for content, works cited/resources, originality, research and evidence to support your theories or conclusions to complement your work experience, etc.! Attach two copies of a current resume. One copy should be saved with student s name and the other copy should be saved without student s name.! Email should be sent to membership@nbmbaa-cleveland.org TRANSCRIPT(S)! Official transcripts are required for all college coursework. If you entered graduate school in the fall semester of 2017, you must include your undergraduate transcripts. If you entered undergraduate school in the fall semester of 2017, you must include your high school transcripts. Transcripts must be received stamped and sealed. Official Transcripts must be postmarked by Wednesday, November 15, 2017.! Completed application, resume, and essay must be sent in one email with the subject header title, 2017 Scholarship Application:{Insert Name}, no later than Wednesday, November 15, 2017.! Final Selections will be announced by the NBMBAA Scholarship Committee no later than Saturday, November 25, 2017.
