Opening Art Receptions: Thursday, September 15, UAC Lobby, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Susan Harrington - Contemporary Art Gallery Denise Leibl - Gallery 220 Both exhibits continue through October 21 History and Hymns: Monday, September 26 in Belin Chapel at 7:30 p.m. This choral concert is a worshipful celebration of congregational singing of hymns, choral anthems, organ arrangements, piano improvisations, and vocal solos. Anthems sung by Schola Cantorum will highlight several different periods in America s history of hymns, with many of them containing patriotic themes. Narration throughout the evening will provide historical, political, and spiritual context for selected hymns. This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required at www.hbu.edu/hymns. To allow time to verify reservations, please plan to arrive by 6:45 pm. Rex Fleming Players Improv Show: Friday, April 7 in Mabee Theater, 8:00 p.m. Junior Voice and Senior Piano Recital: Sunday, April 9, in Belin Chapel at 5:00 p.m., Anastasia Markos will present her Junior Voice Recital accompanied by Dr. Alina Klimaszewska on piano, and Jessamine will present her piano performance recital. The joint recital is free and open to the public. The recital is free and open to the public. Opera Workshop Performance: Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in Dunham Theater. Opera Workshop s spring production featuring fairy tales from around the world, including Barab s one act Little Red Riding Hood, scenes from Massanet s Cendrillon (Cinderella), Humperdinck s Hansel and Gretel, and many more of your favorites. Senoir Voice Recital: Monday, April 24, in Berlin Chapel at 7:30 p.m., Erik Sandstrom will sing his BME Performance Recital, accompanied on the piano by Alina Klimaszewska.
