FY13 is starting strongly: 84 awards, $25.82 million as of October 30. The looming sequestration of federal funding will negatively impact research funding availability. DORED is responding by focusing on:» National priorities that will be less impacted by sequestration: defense, national security, and intelligence.» Private sector funding. Long-term emphasis on tech transfer and economic development are producing results.» Two patents have been received in FY13, the first for A&T since 2008. 10 5
