Qualifications for Recipients Must have served a minimum of 90 days of active duty. Must have served during the set timeframe for each conflict/war. Must have been honorably discharged or still on active duty.

Requirements for the Ancestor Must be a lineal descendant. Must have been honorably discharged or not Absent Without Leave (AWOL). Must not have signed the Oath of Allegiance prior to April 9, 1865. Must have had an approved Pension in lieu of a service record. All 4 pages of the UDC Application

WWI Cross of Military Service Dates of Service: 04 Apr 1917 11 Nov 1918 Must have served overseas for a minimum of 90 days. (There are only a few medals left)
WWII Cross of Military Service Dates of Service: 8 Dec 1941-31 Dec 1946 Must have served overseas or stateside for a minimum of 90 days.
Korean Cross of Military Service Dates of Service: 27 Jun1950 27 Jul 1954 Must have served in Korea for a minimum of 90 days.
Vietnam Cross of Military Service Dates of Service 06 Jul 1964 28 Mar 1973 Must have served in Vietnam or waters surrounding Vietnam for a minimum of 90 days.
Global War on Terror MSA Dates of Service: 11 Sep 2001 to be determined Must have served overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan or in other designated areas during the dates indicated.

Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Must have served a minimum of 30 consecutive days in the area of operation in direct support of an operation and must have been engaged in actual combat or on duty that is equally hazardous. Must have had at least 90 days of active duty service in the US Armed Forces.

Meritorious Service Medal Presented to recipients with collateral ancestors. Can be presented posthumously. Apply for these medals through your committee chairman.

How Long does it take? Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing. Deadline for Division Convention will be August 1 st.
How much does it cost? All medals are $35.00 Lapel pins are $10.00 Checks should be made payable to Treasurer General
What else do I need to know? Medals can be presented to living recipients or can be presented to a family member posthumously. Lapel pins can only be worn by living recipients. Medals can only be worn by living receipients.
