Prenatal Program - comprehensive medical care for delivery and postpartum, high risk pregnancy assessments, physical exams, prenatal classes, counseling, and medical care of delivery. WIC Program - federally funded supplemental food program for low-income, nutritionally atrisk pregnant and nursing women, infants and children under 5 years. Developmental Disabilities Clinic - provides assessments for pre-school children for physical vs. psychological basis of developmental delays. Well Child Clinic - provides physical exams for low-income children ages 4 weeks to 6 years who don't have a medical card and require diagnosis and referral for treatment of acute conditions. Regional Pediatric Clinic - diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of children who have chronic conditions which are not covered by any other services. Early and Periodic Screening - physical assessment, screening for vision, hearing, anemia, etc, and referral for children under 21 years who are eligible for KY Medical Assistance. SIDS Program - support and counseling for SIDS parents. Car Seat Loan Program - provides rental of infant and child restraints at very low cost to families who cannot afford to purchase their own. PKU Screening - Screening for PKU, galactosemia and hypothyroidism for newborns not screened at the hospital, and for breast-fed babies. Nutrition Education - nutritional assessment, counseling, and education are included in all maternal and child health services, as well as special diet counseling for patients by physician referral. School Health Program - offered in cooperation with local school Boards to provide vision and hearing screening, TB testing, scoliosis screening, head lice control, immunizations and health appraisals of school personnel and pre-school children. 91

In-service training available along with assistance to schools in designing sex education curricula appropriate to local need. Communicable Disease Control - Epidemiologic investigation and follow-up with the institution of appropriate control measures, when a local outbreak occurs; reporting to the state of all communicable disease cases. Vital Records - Maintains record of all births and deaths; provides verification of the same, upon request. Issues permits for burial, transit and disinterment. Environmental Services - includes: sanitary food inspection; enforcing sanitation regulations; testing of wells, springs, and cisterns for bacteria and chemicals; services in nuisance control; soil analysis, permits and inspections for private sewage disposal systems; routine inspections and monitoring of public swimming and bathing facilities; animal control to prevent the spread of rabies; and works in cooperation with State and Federal agencies to monitor and control air and water pollution, solid waste dumping, occupational health, consumer product safety and radiation source control. General Clinic - various counseling and clinic services open to the public. Diabetes Control Program - provides extensive diabetes education and in-service programs to area professionals involved in direct patient care. Immunizations Program - provides vaccines to prevent various diseases and provides flu shots for the elderly and high risk groups. Hypertension Control Program - screening and monitoring services, patient education and counseling are available. Cancer Screening Program - pap smear screening and breast self-exam education provided. Health Education Program - disease prevention and health promotion education. Tuberculosis Program - provides TB skin tests. Sexually Transmitted Diseases Program - diagnostic testing, counseling and treatment available to anyone concerned about venereal disease.
