Integrating REMS into the Healthcare System through Structured Product Labeling Adam Kroetsch, MSPPM Policy and Informatics Advisor, Office of Strategic Programs, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) FDA s Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) are programs designed to ensure that certain drugs with serious risks are used safely. REMS information will soon be available in Structured Product Labeling (SPL) format, making it easier to access systematic, standardized information about REMS programs that can be incorporated into existing practices and workflows. This session will introduce participants to REMS SPL, how it works, what information it provides, and how it can interact with NCPDP standards to help automate and standardize REMS workflows. This session will discuss the NCPDP standards developed to exchange health information and government programs designed to assist connecting pharmacies to Health Information Exchange (HIE) organizations responsible for data exchange management. TeleHealth Emily Alexander Former CEO, Envision Telepharmacy Kevin Boesen, Pharm.D. CEO, SinfoniaRx James B.
