1. Aim G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Official Poster Design Competition The G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki will be held in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, from May 15 th 17 th, 2016. The Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers' Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki was formed in order to ensure its success, to prepare both the public and private sector in Ibaraki for the event, and to undertake related projects and public relations work. During the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, prefecture-wide initiatives will be carried out based on four core ideas: event support, hospitality, initiatives in anticipation of the future, and showing the world what makes Tsukuba and Ibaraki great. The Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers' Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki is accepting submissions for an official poster design with the aim of communicating information about the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki and Ibaraki Prefecture s appeal to a large number of people and inspiring the local community to welcome the event. 2. Outline The Science & Technology Minister s Meeting is an extremely high profile international conference held in conjunction with a summit meeting, the world s highest level international conference. We are aiming to seize the golden opportunity for information provision that comes with the Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in order to increase the visibility of Ibaraki Prefecture and Tsukuba City and produce economic effects such as investments and the invitation of further international conferences to Tsukuba by showing the rest of Japan and the world the potential of Tsukuba Science City and the things that make Ibaraki and Tsukuba great. 3. Theme The Things That Make Ibaraki and Tsukuba Great To express Tsukuba s cutting edge science & technology and the various things that make Ibaraki great in the form of a poster in order to raise awareness of these things among the residents of Ibaraki Prefecture.

4. Entry Qualifications People of any age and nationality, both professional and amateur, may submit designs. Submissions can be made by individuals, groups, organizations, and corporations. 5. How to Enter 1 Only one submission can be made per person or group 2 Submissions will be accepted from Tuesday, November 24 th, 2015, to Friday, January 15 th, 2016 3 Hours Submissions can be made on weekdays (not on weekends or public holidays) from 8:30am to 5:15pm. They cannot be made between 12-1pm. (Submissions must be made by 5:15pm on January 15 th, 2016) 4 Submission Requirements 1. If the design being submitted is made by hand: Submission Form (*This must be stuck to the back of the work being submitted on the bottom right corner) Your original design on B2-sized Kent paper (*Please do not bend or fold it) 2. If the design being submitted is made using a computer: Submission Form (*This must be stuck to the back of the work being submitted on the bottom right corner) A color-printed design sample of your design (*The recommended size for the design sample is B2. Please ensure that it is larger than A3) (*Please do not bend or fold the design sample) 3. Other Submissions made using a computer that receive first prize or an award of excellence must promptly submit electronic data (CD- ROM) created adhering to the guidelines stated in 6. Entry Conditions 5 How to Make a Submission Submissions must be made in person or by post, and must be made before the deadline. If a required document is missing from the submission, it may not be accepted. 6 Submission Cautions 1. The submission form must be filled out in Japanese. Submission forms written in other languages will not be accepted. 2. If your design contains elements that fall under copyright, portrait

6. Entry Conditions rights, or other rights held by a third party, please ensure that you receive the consent of the rights holder. 3. If you are submitting by post, we cannot take responsibility if your submission is damaged during delivery, so please ensure that you send it in durable packaging. Please ensure that you make your design in adherence to the following conditions. 1 The design must be your own work, and it must be unpublished. 2 Creation Methods 1. You can use any materials to create your design. There are no particular restrictions on the use of photos, illustrations, or computer graphics. 2. Your design should be B2 and vertical. The final poster will have the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers' Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki s name and other information printed on the bottom, so please leave about 50mm of space (blank) at the bottom of the page. 3. Please incorporate the following sentences in your design (A, C, and D are compulsory; B is optional. You do not need to write the letters A~D in front of the sentences). You can incorporate them in any order using any style or font. Please use a layout that will allow your design to fulfil its function as a poster. Whether you are creating your submission by hand or using a computer, please ensure that you follow the respective guidelines Designs made by hand: Must be made on B2-sized Kent paper. (The completed design will be used on posters up to B1 (1030mm x 728mm) size. When enlarging the design, there is a chance that the image quality will drop, so please take this into consideration when making your design.) Designs made with a computer: Must be made B2-sized. You may color the design any way that you wish. Please use Adobe Illustrator (.ai or.eps) or Photoshop (.psd) to make your design. (You may not use Word or Excel.)

7. Commendations Please set the color mode to CMYK, outline the character data, and set the resolution to 350dpi or higher. First Prize: 1 winner of 100,000 prize money and a prize Award of Excellence: 10 winners of 10 Prizes Prizes are products of Ibaraki Prefecture (equivalent of 6,000 including postage) from the published gift catalog 100 Story Ibaraki Premium Product Catalog Selection. In the event that the winner is younger than a high school student, the prize money will be replaced by a book voucher with equivalent value. The prize and the announcement of the winner will be given at the beginning of February 2016. 8. Selection and Announcement 1. The project will be judged by the selection committee, which includes members of the private sector. After the judging occurs, the president of the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki will choose the winner. 2. Selection Criteria The works will be judged by their design, expression of the theme, and their ability to draw people in. 3. After the winners are decided, they will be notified personally and announced publicly on the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki website and other places. 4. Please understand that the winners personal information (name, age, area of residence, photo) may be publicized on the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki website and in printed materials and/or provided to the press. 9. Submission Restrictions If a submission falls under any of the criteria below, it will be disqualified without any notice. Submission is deemed immoral or indecent Submission infringes or may infringe on the copyright of a third party, portrait rights, or any other rights Submission is or may be defamatory to a third party or anything that is linked or may be linked to criminal activity Submission is or may be a violation of laws and regulations or linked to criminal activity Submission is deemed by the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki not to meet the criteria of the poster design competition

Submission intentionally includes designs that will give away the identity of the individual or group that created it Submission obstructs or may obstruct the proper operation of the poster design competition Submission is illegible 10. Handling of Submissions Submitted works (including data) and documents will not be returned, regardless of whether they receive a prize The copyright (including rights defined by the Copyright Act, Article 27 and Article 28) right of use, and other rights to the works selected for first prize or for a prize of excellence will transfer to the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki. The winners may not exercise their moral rights to the submitted work The work that receives first prize will be adopted as the poster design, and will be used for the purpose of publicity for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki on all or some of the following mediums: the Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki website, printed materials, etc. The Promoting Council for the G7 Science & Technology Ministers Meeting in Tsukuba, Ibaraki reserves the right to alter/modify the color and/or design. Depending on the situation, the creator of the design may be asked to do the alteration. If a work that receives an award is deemed to be identical or similar to an existing published work after the winners are announced, the work in question will be disqualified and the winner will be asked to return the prize and money. 11. Handling of Personal Information 12. Other Personal information of the competition participants will only be used in the acceptance of submissions, for contact details, and in the selection and announcement of the winners. Unless it is based on the provisions of laws and regulations, the participants personal information will not be used for any purpose other than those stated above or given to a third party without the participant s consent. 1.
