The first two days will serve as an opportunity for research teams to develop guiding principles for blockchain in health care. Over the final three days, teams will assemble quickly around a challenge and/or dataset. Within 36 hours they develop a concept and prototype. On the final day, teams pitch their products to their peers and a panel of expert judges, who ultimately award prizes for the best of the best. Throughout the day, participantsw garner insights from one another, speakers, and sponsors about data sets, APIs, and potential directions. For participants, co-create-a-thons are a great way to meet like-minded innovators and sharpen their skills under pressure. Sometimes, it s the basis for their next venture.
