Kimberly FFA Chapter Officer Application 2016-2017 The Process: 1. Complete the attached officer application. It is highly suggested that you type your application. The application is a word document. 2. Submit a completed application with all appropriate signatures to an Advisor before 12:00 pm April 11 th. 3. A non-partisan nominating committee will select all officers. The committee will consist of one retiring senior FFA Officer, one junior member, one sophomore member, one freshman member, and one alumni/advisory board member and one adult at large. 4. The nominating committee will interview each candidate. From the candidates interviewed, the committee will select and recommend a slate of officers. 5. Officer interviews will occur starting at 3:45 on April 11 th in the ag building, officers should be in official dress. Interview times will be established upon turning in your officer application. 6. Members should be in official dress and should be prepared for a 15 minute interview. 7. The slate of officers will be installed, during the Chapter Banquet on April 18, using the officer installation ceremonies outlined in the Official FFA Manual. All new officers must be present for the installation ceremony. Requirements and Expectations: 1. All officers are required to attend Chapter meetings, unless prior arrangements have been made. Meeting dates and times will be set prior to the start of the school year. 2. It should be understood that Chapter officers are role models for the other Chapter membersyour participation in Chapter activities, community service, CDEs, and Proficiency applications sets the tone for the rest of the Chapter. Positive behavior, both in and out of the classroom, is expected of Chapter Officers at all times. 3. Attend a 3 day Summer Chapter Officer Training (TBD) 4. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher 5. Memorize his/her officer part for opening and closing ceremonies prior to opening ceremonies CDE. 6. Willing to uphold school and district policies 7. Maintain a clean discipline and attendance record. 8. Submit application by deadline 9. Accept and carry out all responsibilities of your elected office. 10. Refrain from the use, possession, concealment, of alcoholic beverages, narcotic drugs or controlled substance, or tobacco products.
