Governor Branstad Presents: Feeding and Fueling the World This hour-long session will include interested U.S. governors and international leaders in a discussion on how trade and innovation is vital to feeding and fueling a growing world population that is expected to reach 9 billion by the year 2050. Agriculture, bioscience and renewable energy are major industries in nearly every state in the nation, and governors play an active role in promoting their states exports to the global marketplace. (July 14-17) Thursday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Iowa Events Center Sunday, 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Marriott Downtown Des Moines Governors and their spouses, Iowa sponsors, Corporate Fellows and NGA attendees are invited to partner with Outreach, Inc., in a meal-packaging event. As part of an effort to provide safe water, food, medical care and education to those in need, the Outreach program organizes foodpackaging events around the country and has provided ingredients to package more than 330 million meals. The meals packaged during this event will benefit the Iowa Food Bank. 7
