Justin has an avid love of the outdoors, and in his free time he likes to hike and explore. When the weather is rough, Justin prefers to stay indoors and read about history and philosophy. Vice President Samantha Sanchez-Rivera The Vice President must fulfill duties of the president when the president is unable, advise chapter committees, maintain the chapter's social media page(s), and coordinate chapter service events. Samantha (Samy) Sanchez-Rivera is a senior at Ferris, and she is majoring in social work with a minor in political science. She was born in Puerto Rico, and her first language is Spanish. Samy has a passion for music, and has played a variety of instruments for the past 15 years. She is a third year Resident Advisor and is currently a Resident Advisor of Cramer Hall. Besides her involvement in NRHH, Samy is also a member of Phi Alpha Delta, SIISA, and the Social Work Association. 2

Director of Administration Analiese Schmitt The Director of Administration shall record and distribute minutes for all chapter meetings, retrieve all mail from the RSO mailbox in the Center for Leadership, Activities, and Career Services (CLACS) office prior to weekly meetings, and read the report of an absent executive board member(s). Analiese Schmitt is a senior in Ferris State's biology program. She is very interested in both zoology and botany. She is currently the Senior Resident Advisor of Brophy/McNerney Hall, and has been a student staff member for four years. In her free time, Analiese loves to read. She's also really, really good at climbing trees. Director of Finance Jim Berg The Director of Finance is responsible for coordinating the formulation of the budget with the consultation of the Chapter Advisor, give a written and oral report of the budget to active NRHH members concerning all expenditures and the current balance of the financial account at the first meeting of each month, and maintain the chapter's OrgSync page. Jim Berg is a transfer student in the automotive engineering technology program. Jim is a first year Resident Advisor of Brophy/McNerney Hall, but he was a Resident Advisor for two years at his previous university. He enjoys playing drums, being outside, and just about anything that has to do with cars! Student Government Representative Edward Price The Student Government Representative must serve as the liaison between NRHH and Student Government Association (SGA), and represent and vote on behalf of Ferris State University's NRHH chapter at all SGA meetings. Caitlyn Doran is a senior in the biotechnology program with a minor in French, and she is currently a second year Suite Advisor of East Campus Suites. Before NRHH, Caitlyn was 2016-17 RHA president and 2015-16 NCC. She has attended a total of 3 GLACURH RLCs, 1 GLACURH RBC, and 2 NACURH conferences. In her free time, Caitlyn enjoys watching horror movies, playing board games and card games with friends, and completing Sudoku puzzles. Advisor Timothy Nickels The NRHH Advisor is responsible for providing training, support, and guidance to the executive board and chapter members, and serve as a resource for the chapter as a whole. Timothy Nickels is the Hall Director of Vandercook Hall and East Campus Suites, co-advisor of the Residence Hall Association, NRHH advisor, and a full-time student. With Tim's help, the executive board was able to draft a new constitution and recharter our NRHH chapter, now known as the Bulldog Chapter. Before coming to Ferris, Tim served as Communications Coordinator and President at Eastern Michigan University during his undergrad, NRHH Advisor of Oakland University's Golden Grizzly Chapter, and GLACURH's AD-NRHH. 4

Purebred Membership (Chapter Membership) The Bulldog Chapter currently has 13 total on-campus members. This is a 1,200% increase as only one member remained from when the chapter was last active. Students have worked hard this year to recharter our chapter and increase our presence on campus. Member involvement includes student staff, Residence Hall Association executives, hall council executives, residents, and much more. Communication A Facebook page for our chapter was created as a means of communication outside of meetings. Volunteer sign up forms, polls, and meeting minutes can be found here. Members receive reminders about general assembly meetings and other chapter events through our chapter's GroupMe. Aspiring Diamonds The Bulldog Chapter's member nomination form was created using Google Forms. Utilizing Google Forms allows for a link to be shared through multiple sources to any student interested in NRHH membership. It can be easily accessed through our chapter's Facebook page, OrgSync profile, and the Residence Hall Association's Facebook page. 5

Puppy Training (Chapter Goals) Recruitment and Retention Though we have made great strides to increase our membership by 1,200% this year to date alone, we still strive to continue to grow. Not only are we seeking to grow, but we are intentionally making an effort to recruit residents that are non-student staff members. Upon Spring 2018 commencement, we are confident we will be able to retain double digit membership. Campus & Community Involvement As an organization on the upswing, we are seeking to further our name on campus and in the greater Big Rapids community. In order to do so, we are intentionally seeking to collaborate with other RSO's (registered student organizations) on campus. One such idea is partnering with our student sustain ability organization to conduct a campus clean up. Another idea for partnering with the greater Big Rapids community is volunteering at a local church that provides meals to those in need. Such an event is planned for the end of February. Overall, we are looking to increase name and brand recognition by utilizing social media whereas we haven't in the past. We now utilize mediums we have not used in the past, i.e. Facebook, and intend to expand into other platforms as the chapter continues to grow. Generally, we are seeking to increase our service opportunities for members and residents alike. Serving food at the local church, as aforementioned, is a prime example. The chapter also intends to seek out more philanthropy events and creative means to support our philanthropy outside of traditional fundraising. 6

ASPCA (Service) Chapter Philanthropy This year, the Bulldog Chapter has chosen the Wesley House's Student Emergency Food Pantry as its philanthropy. The Student Emergency Food Pantry is an on-campus resource for students struggling with hunger. Started by a Ferris State Alumni, the food pantry was founded after they realized some students cannot afford a meal plan, and others had to chose between buying food and buying textbooks. The Bulldog Chapter wanted to give back to the students living on and off campus, and The Student Emergency Food Pantry has allowed our chapter to successfully do so. Haunting in Merrill-Travis The Haunting in Merrill-Travis was a student staff driven program that was open to both students and the Big Rapids community. Both Merrill and Travis Halls, two vacant residence halls at Ferris State, were transformed into a haunted house with rooms containing scenes from popular horror movies. With our chapter's executive board being primarily composed of student staff members, these individuals were the driving force behind the philanthropic aspect of the program. Each attendee was required to bring nonperishable food items for admission to the haunted house. Because of our chapter's collaboration with the senior staff programming committee, over 1,000 attendees donated over 1,000 canned goods towards The Bulldog Chapter's philanthropy, The Student Emergency Food Pantry. We also had all 13 active NRHH members volunteer for the Haunting in Merrill-Travis, whether they acted in a scene, decorated the halls, ran carnival games, maintained security of the event, or dedicated their time to the event in any other way. Our Advisor even participated as a tour guide! 7

ASPCA (Programming) OTM Workshop At our chapter's first general assembly meeting of February, Chapter Advisor Tim Nickels facilitated an OTM workshop for all members of the chapter, as well as any students interested in learning more about NRHH and OTMs. The workshop presented information on how to submit an OTM, the categories and important criteria to include for each, and tips on how to write an overall great OTM. The workshop was intended to educate members and other attendees on OTMs, thus increasing our campus's OTM submissions. Our chapter hopes that by conducting these workshops OTM submissions from students and staff members from outside the NRHH chapter increase. Campus-Wide Volleyball Tournament In collaboration with RHA, our chapter is able to host our first annual Campus-Wide Volleyball Tournament. The program is scheduled for Friday, February 9th, 2018. The goal of this program is to raise money for our philanthropy and promote our organization. Teams will be comprised of students from residence halls across campus, and all proceeds will be donated to the Student Emergency Food Pantry. Proceeds will be generated from each team's entry fee. The entry fee will also cover the cost of the T-shirts provided to participating teams. 8

American Kennel Club (Recognition) Growth Before this year, Ferris State University had not submitted an OTM in 4 years, had not achieved a regional-winning OTM in 5 years, and had not achieved a NACURH-winning OTM in 7 years. Since the rechartering of our chapter, Ferris State University has 4 regional winners, and 2 NACURH winners, all in different categories. We are especially proud of this considering our chapter was officially rechartered in August of 2017. Regional Winners August 2017 Melissa Harvill - Resident Assistant October 2017 Get Out - Diversity Program December 2017 Parker Reed - Student Staff Member Ferris State University NRHH - Organization NACURH Winners December 2017 Vandercook Hall - Residential Community Brightest Wishes for Finals - Passive Program 9

The National Dog Show (Conference Involvement) GLACURH Since rechartering in August of 2017, the Bulldog Chapter was able to have 5 members represent the chapter at the GLACURH 2017 Regional Leadership Conference hosted by UWLa Crosse. The Bulldog Chapter is also very excited to have representation at the GLACURH 2018 Regional Business Conference in March as well! NACURH As of 2018, the Bulldog Chapter has not yet had the opportunity to be represented at a NACURH conference in several years. However, our chapter is very excited to send members to NACURH 2018 at Arizona State University - Tempe. Even though our chapter has not had representation in recent times, 5 out of 13 members have attended at least one NACURH conference.
