Program Overview & Benefits Annually, The Broward Alliance selects up to ten (10) qualified Minority and Women Business Leaders to join its Scholars Program. The Broward Alliance believes in the importance of having diverse business leadership around the table to implement a comprehensive economic development strategy. The Scholars Program is a 3-year program providing the following opportunities and programs: Opportunities to participate in various committees which direct economic strategies for Broward County Work with public and private sector leaders and organizations driving Broward s economic agenda Opportunity to influence and provide key input into County-wide economic development issues and strategies Opportunity to create business relationships through Broward Alliance meetings, activities and events Opportunity for company articles and profiles in the Broward Alliance s e-newsletter Company listing on The Broward Alliance website promoting your products/services and access to Investors Only web pages Opportunity to participate in retention/expansion outreach teams to Broward companies Complimentary copies of all Broward Alliance publications and marketing materials: Broward Economic Sourcebook Who s Who in Economic Development Monthly email updates on topical issues, results and business intelligence e- Newsletter Special invitations to Investor Only events. Scholarship Schedule: In year 1, The Broward Alliance assumes all financial responsibility for the Scholar s participation as an Investor. In year 2 and 3, the Scholar assumes additional financial responsibility as an investor of economic development. Expectations for Scholars: All Scholars are expected to engage in Broward Alliance activities, programs, initiatives and events of their choice. Eligibility Criteria The Broward Alliance selects up to ten (10) qualified Minority and Women Business Leaders to join its Scholars Program. Certified Minority/Woman/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise or in process: [this can be attained though: Broward County Small Business Division; Broward County School Board; Broward Health; FL Regional Minority Business Council; Women s Business Development Center] Primary place of business is located in Broward County Properly licensed to operate a business in Broward County.
