AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY s INAUGURAL FLORIDA HOPE RIDE Tampa-Gainesville-Jacksonville The Florida Hope Ride is a unique opportunity to help raise awareness and funds to end cancer. By supporting the Florida Hope Ride, your company or organization can partner with the American Cancer Society and support our vision of creating a world free from the pain and suffering from cancer. From research to education, prevention to diagnosis, and treatment to recovery, we provide support to everyone impacted by cancer. What is the Florida Hope Ride? The Florida Hope Ride is a noncompetitive, four-day cycling event starting at the American Cancer Society Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge residence in Tampa. The finish line is at the proposed site of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge in Jacksonville. Overnight stops will be at the Youth Elks Lodge in Umatilla, the University of Florida in Gainesville, and Camp Blanding in Starke. Participants can ride as an individual or as part of a team; riders of all levels are encouraged to register. What is the Hope Lodge Program? The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when traveling away from home for treatment. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows guests to focus on getting well. Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others. Every Hope Lodge also offers a variety of resources and information about cancer and how best to fight the disease. Florida is home to two of the more than 30 Hope Lodge communities, with a third location to begin construction in Jacksonville in 2017. Your support of American Cancer Society events, like our Florida Hope Ride, helps make Hope Lodge communities possible.
