2. PLAN essay - Valley Forge is widely known as a time of suffering for the Revolutionary Army. Write to explain the problems General Washington and his army had to overcome during the Winter of 1777-1778. HAND Format: Plan the essay. (lack of discipline and training, lack of food and supplies, cold weather and sickness) 3. USE the 5 senses work from Friday to WRITE the cold weather paragraph. Tuesday Feb. 4: What would the Valley Forge soldiers think about the Superbowl Coke commercial? Watch video and discuss. 1. Evaluate and Grade Cold Weather and Sickness paragraph. 2. Revolutionary War Questions - Section 6-1 and 6-2. Wednesday Feb. 5: Benedict Arnold - watch a short BIO video and use the book to write a word for each letter of Arnold's name to describe him. Revolutionary War Questions - Sections 6-3 and 6-4 Thursday Feb. 6: Media Center - BrainPOP Revolutionary Way - watch video and take quiz. Small groups - grade 6-1 thru 6-4 questions. Friday Feb. 7: Bell ringer: A-Z of the Revolutionary War. Use your notes and the book to find a word to go with each letter that has to do with the War. BrainPOP - Revolutionary War - watch the video and then take the WRITTEN quiz for a grade. Benedict Arnold - the final Treason - watch the last video segment that explains Arnold's treason.

Monday Feb. 10 and Tuesday Feb. 11: 1. Pass out Blue Sheets for Crestview High School. Go over requirements and deadlines. READ the information about Benedict Arnold. 2 minute eye to eye chat about the article. Plan essay: The name Benedict Arnold is synonymous with the word traitor. Arnold was a successful American general before he turned against the Revolutionary cause and turned over information about West Point to the British in return for money and a position in the British Army. Write to explain the reasons WHY Benedict Arnold became a traitor. Hand format: 1st: Arnold's childhood - his desire to rise about his alcoholic father and regain the family name and money 2nd: Arnold's lack of credit - he was not given credit for Ft. Ticonderoga or Saratoga, in Saratoga he was shot in the leg and was in a lot of pain after that 3rd: Arnold's close ties to the Tories - as governor of Philadelphia Arnold spent time in dinner, dancing with Tories and because of this he was accused of being corrupt. Arnold married a woman with close ties to John Andre, a British Soldier, and the man Arnold eventually gave West Point information to. You will WRITE the 4th and Final paragraph. The final paragraph needs to use the WRAP Up strategy. Wednesday Feb. 12: SUB Vocabulary from the article. Read and discuss article on the KNOX Trail. Answer Questions with a partner for a grade. Watch School House America Rock video. Thursday Feb. 13:

1. TEST - Open Note and Open Book on the Revolutionary War. Make sure you have all of your own notes, timelines, video notes ready. Friday Feb. 14: Presentation with Ms. Anderson - Teen Dating and Relationships.
