Monday Feb. 10 and Tuesday Feb. 11: 1. Pass out Blue Sheets for Crestview High School. Go over requirements and deadlines. READ the information about Benedict Arnold. 2 minute eye to eye chat about the article. Plan essay: The name Benedict Arnold is synonymous with the word traitor. Arnold was a successful American general before he turned against the Revolutionary cause and turned over information about West Point to the British in return for money and a position in the British Army. Write to explain the reasons WHY Benedict Arnold became a traitor. Hand format: 1st: Arnold's childhood - his desire to rise about his alcoholic father and regain the family name and money 2nd: Arnold's lack of credit - he was not given credit for Ft. Ticonderoga or Saratoga, in Saratoga he was shot in the leg and was in a lot of pain after that 3rd: Arnold's close ties to the Tories - as governor of Philadelphia Arnold spent time in dinner, dancing with Tories and because of this he was accused of being corrupt. Arnold married a woman with close ties to John Andre, a British Soldier, and the man Arnold eventually gave West Point information to. You will WRITE the 4th and Final paragraph. The final paragraph needs to use the WRAP Up strategy. Wednesday Feb. 12: SUB Vocabulary from the article. Read and discuss article on the KNOX Trail. Answer Questions with a partner for a grade.
