Edwin M. Lee, Mayor Naomi Kelly, City Administrator City and County of San Francisco City Administrator Yammer/Microsoft Community Benefit Agreement 2013 Progress Report Final 1. Microsoft will encourage employees to volunteer in the Central Market and Tenderloin neighborhoods by sponsoring at least two volunteer days in 2013 where employees will be enabled by senior management to participate in volunteerism. Employees will be compensated for these community volunteer activities as if they were usual work days. On April 12, 2013, Yammer sponsored 1 company-wide day of giving where 80% of in-town employees participated. We had over 200 employees volunteering at 13 organizations. As part of Microsoft s Day of Giving, on September 20 th, 2013, employees were encouraged to volunteer at GLIDE. Approximately 20 employees volunteered, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This event helped kick off Microsoft s annual Give Campaign, which encouraged employees to volunteer and donate to non-profits. Yammer hosted several company-wide fundraisers as part of the Give Campaign that resulted in contributions to De Marillac, Glide, Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, and San Francisco City Impact. Microsoft s employee Giving Campaign has generated over $1B in contributions to nonprofits since its inception, including over $110M in 2013. Yammer sponsored 1 company-wide day of giving on October 31 st. The proceeds went to De Marillac, GLIDE, City Impact, and the TL Boys and Girls Club. 2. Microsoft s community liaison and employees will select community-based organizations for volunteer days, consistent with the Citizens Advisory Committee framework, and will notify the City Administrator s Office of its selections. Areas of interest expressed by Microsoft in year one include access to quality affordable food, educating youth, preparing transitional age youth (18-24) for higher education/employment, services for seniors, and affordable housing and homeless programs for women and families. Tenderloin Community School, De Marillac Academy, Compass Family Services, Hamilton Family Center, Episcopal Community Services, Boys & Girls Club, Salvation Army, Tenderloin YMCA, TNDC Community Garden, The Arc of SF, DPW Giant Sweep, GLIDE, Larkin Street Youth, St. Anthony's Dining Room and Tenderloin Tech Lab 3. In addition to volunteer days, Microsoft will encourage employees to participate in donation drives and organize at least one food or toy drive in 2013.

We organized a clothing drive for St. Anthony's clothing program donating a few hundred pounds of clothes and $600 worth of new undergarments Total value of donation = $1200 October 2013: Held Halloween Costume drive for Compass Family Services, as well as a clothing drive for St. Anthony s. Hosted Hackathon where attendees were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the local food banks. Progress Completed 4. Microsoft will work with the Department of Aging and Adult Services to identify organizations supporting seniors and partner with them to provide nourishing meals and/or social visits. We have worked on an ongoing basis with ECS (monthly) and plan to reach out to Curry Senior Center 5. Microsoft will encourage employees to join Boards of Directors of local community nonprofits, to lend their fiscal and personal expertise to governance of local community based organizations. At least 10 nonprofit organizations in the Central Market and Tenderloin neighborhoods will receive licenses for Yammer Enterprise along with access to a Customer Success Manager ( CSM ). The CSM will work with the organization to develop a successful Enterprise Social Network strategy that aligns with your objectives. Local organizations have been outreached to about the offer. Yammer is currently working with Hospitality House to receive licenses for Yammer Enterprise and support its implementation. Progress: Not Complete 7. Microsoft will participate in the TechSF initiative by attending at least one TechSF event in 2013, and maintaining regular contact with the City Administrator s Office of Innovation on its progress. Yammer hosted Nerd Underground 8. Microsoft employees will be encouraged to participate in at least one event per year to share tips on how to gain employment with similar firms. Yammer hosted Nerd Underground 9. Microsoft will partner with local organizations to identify interested parties and host a financial literacy workshop at its Yammer office. Yammer/Microsoft worked with Jewish Vocational Services, Junior Achievement, Center for Young Women s Development, Oasis for Girls (Tide Center), and other organizations to host events and trainings at the Microsoft Store on Market Street during the 4 th Quarter of 2013. Trainings covered a range of topics, including Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs important to workforce development (including financial skills). 10. Microsoft will support qualifying NGO s in the Central Market and Tenderloin neighborhood with donated software, through its partner TechSoup. $496,000 software donation to Larkin Street Youth Services in support of Hire Up: Education and Employment Services for Youth that we made available in July. In 2013, TechSoup provided Microsoft software donations totaling over $2M to over 400 San Francisco organizations. Microsoft has also reached out to Larkin Street Youth Services to assist in their IT upgrade that was made possible through the software donation. 11. Through its subsidiary Yammer, Microsoft will donate computer hardware to local NGO s. With an estimated market value of no less than $10,000. $16,000 worth of monitors (60) to Tenderloin Tech Lab $3,500 worth of computer equipment to 6th Street Safety Hub (Project Homeless Connect) $5,500 worth of computer equipment to SF ED Fund Dates: 3/28/2013 (tech lab) 3/06/2013 (safety hub) 5/06/2013 (SF Ed Fund) 12. Through its subsidiary Yammer, Microsoft will establish a hyper local nonprofit grant program supporting nonprofits with cash contributions. This program will have a budget no less than $60,000. We have granted over $60k to date with the following breakdown: 37% to Education, 9% food justice, 33% homelessness, 21% arts. Organizations benefiting: Bicycle Coalition, Episcopal Community Services, LEVYdance, LINES Dance Center, Boys Hope Girls Hope, Aim High, TNDC, Hamilton Family Center, Compass Family Services, Project Inform, De Marillac Academy, BuildOn, Tenderloin Community School Yammer/Microsoft P a g e 3

13. Microsoft will encourage employees to volunteer as tutors at local schools, including the Tenderloin Community School, Bessie Carmichael Elementary School and other independent schools in the Central Market and Tenderloin area. Yammer/Microsoft encourages its employees to regularly volunteer in schools, making opportunities in the community known through the Yammer groups. In addition to the volunteer days at Tenderloin Community School and De Marillac Academy, employees were involved in weekly activities (including the teaching of computer coding) at City Impact School and others in the City. 14. On at least one occasion, Microsoft will send a group of at least 10 employees to the Tenderloin Community School to assist teachers with classroom activities. 15 employees were sent to Tenderloin Community School 15. Through Microsoft s YouthSpark initiative, it will work with one of its national partners: Boys & Girls Clubs, Year Up, City Year, or NFTE to advance technology awareness in youth. Worked with Boys & Girls Club In addition to Boys & Girls Club, we worked with Junior Achievement (another national partner) and other local organizations (JVS, Goodwill, etc.) to support technology awareness and learning. In fact, every national partner except City Year is active in San Francisco. 16. Microsoft will partner with at least one organization serving transitional age youth (aged 18-24) to provide opportunities for internships, mentoring, or matching grants for youth led programs. Worked with Boys Hope Girls Hope In addition to the Boys Hope Girls Hope, Microsoft/Yammer worked with Junior Achievement and JVS on job shadow days, mock interviews, and other mentoring activities. 17. Microsoft will work with local organizations to host one or more lunches at the Yammer office with kids and teens to expose them to working life at a technology company. Hosted 10-15 teens from Boys and Girls club at Yammer Offices. August 1st, MSFT hosted group of girls from Boys and Girls Ladies Tech Camp at the market street offices. As highlighted above, Microsoft/Yammer also hosted job shadowing and mentoring sessions at our store and offices with Junior Achievement and JVS at various times throughout the year. 18. Microsoft will encourage employees to attend local arts and cultural programming by at least three times annually, organizing and paying for groups of employees to attend local performances and making information on these opportunities available. We encouraged our employees to attend Summer of Art presents What s On Stage? Spring Season at UN Plaza, 2 LEVYdance performances, 2 shows of Alonzo King LINES Ballet 30th Anniversary Spring Season. We paid for 30 employees to attend the Alonzo King shows and paid for a month-long in-office dance series hosted at Yammer by an instructor from the Alonzo King LINES Dance Center. 19. Microsoft will explore options to partner with local artists by commissioning works for the 1355 Market St Office. Microsoft will continue to explore opportunities to source items from local artists for the 1355 Market Street Office; unfortunately, there was no art purchased for the office during 2013 (and, thus, no opportunity to source from local artists). Progress: Not Complete 20. Microsoft will make employees aware of the Department of Public Works Community Clean Team event in District Six next year so they may participate. 30 employees participated in the city s Giant Sweep 21. Microsoft will participate in the public process to determine improvements to local transportation, including the process to renovate BART station entrances. Yammer/Microsoft participates in discussions on transportation improvements. 22. If there is a Sunday Streets event in Central Market/Tenderloin, Microsoft will make employees aware of it. Update as of 11/22/13: Informed employees of the Family Fun Day/B-Ball Tournament at VMD Park on Saturday October 27 th 23. Microsoft will consult with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition on ideas for improvements in the Central Market and Tenderloin that would benefit those who bicycle. We hosted the SF Bicycle Coalition for a conversation about bike sharing which featured supervisors Chiu, Kim, and Weiner. We also participated in Bike 2 Work Day events by hosting 2 stations and encouraging our employees to bike to work that day and every other day. Yammer/Microsoft P a g e 5

24. Microsoft will encourage employees to volunteer and contribute financially to community gardens as well as work at local food pantries. TNDC Community Garden, St Anthony s Dining Room As highlighted previously, Yammer/Microsoft employees volunteer at Glide and St. Anthony s. 25. Microsoft, in concert with other CBA companies, will assist the Mayor s Office of Innovation in the City s effort to conduct an assessment of opportunities to expand digital inclusion at nonprofit locations and in public rights of way in the local area, a process that will result in recommendations by the end of 2013. We have spoken briefly with Shannon Spanhake & Jay Nath on this topic. Waiting for Office of Innovation to get back to us. 26. Microsoft, in concert with other CBA companies, will engage with the Mayor s Office of Innovation and the City Administrator s office, to explore ways for implementing any of the recommendations contained in the City s assessment described above. Progress: See Above 27. Microsoft will commit to use commercially reasonable efforts to purchase goods and services from small businesses, local caterers, suppliers, and restaurants in the local community in 2013. We have spent over $25,000 at local restaurants and bars and over $2 million on catering from a local TL caterer, Green Heart Foods Yammer/Microsoft has spent over $2M with local TL caterer, Green Hearts Foods, including over 1.1M in 2013. 28.
