NSBE comprises of more than four hundred chapters that represent collegiate, alumni and pre-college members in the United States, Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. NSBE had its genesis in April 1975 in Region IV on the campus of Purdue University. Its founders were 6 highly motivated young men (Anthony Harris, Brian Harris, Stanley L. Kirtley, John W. Logan Jr., Edward A. Coleman and George A. Smith). In 1976, NSBE was incorporated under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a nonprofit organization in the State of Texas. NSBE Mission To increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community

Dear Corporate Partners, LETTER FROM THE FINANCE CHAIR On behalf of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), I would like to invite you into a mutually beneficial relationship with the largest non-profit, student-managed organization in the United States through professional and financial support. NSBE strives for the recruitment and retention of young students of color majoring in a wide variety of fields, such as engineering, technology, mathematics, and physical sciences. NSBE Region VI is the largest geographical region within the organization, comprised of numerous chapters within 13 western states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) containing more than 1300 PCI, collegiate and alumni members. In an effort to fulfill our mission, Region VI has developed many programs and conferences for the academic, professional and cultural advancement of our members. The Pre-Collegiate Initiative program (PCI) founded by Region VI in 1971 was designed to promote academic excellence amongst students of grades 6-12. It has since been adopted and implemented as a national initiative. The NSBE Alumni Extension program is comprised of young technical professionals, offering benefits such as professional training, leadership development, mentoring and employment opportunities, and community outreach. Additionally, these members are advisors to our Region. Our corporate sponsors hold an important place, allowing us to continue and implement new programs. Your support and involvement with Region VI will garner access to some of the best and brightest engineers and leaders this nation has to offer, as well as ensuring the fulfillment of our mission. Region Six is also home to some of the most robust colleges/universities in America. Out of the top 25 Engineering schools in the nation, 7 of them are from our region. Our FRC is designed to help young NSBE leaders from prestigious schools such as these to be excellent leaders who live out the NSBE mission. The time for increasing the number of young, ambitious black professional engineers is upon us. FRC provides the perfect opportunity to partner and network with such astounding talent and pool of leadership potential. Enclosed is a brief summary of our Region VI programs offered throughout the year as well as available sponsorship opportunities. On behalf of NSBE and Region VI, I thank you for your interest in our organization. It is critical to our ability to provide support to our members. Sincerely, Glen Bank s 2015-2016 Region VI Finance Chair National Society of Black Engineers Email: r6finance@nsbe.org Direct: (323) 333-4409 3
