This is the twelfth year that the Garland Senior Activity Center has planned an event to benefit senior citizens in our community. We will offer health and wellness related screenings as well as information about many assistance services available for older adults in our community. Our goal at the Garland Senior Activity Center is to educate and influence people to prevent accidental injury and death, reduce senior falls and wipe out accidental prescription overdose. Garland Senior Services Travel Policies When you arrive at the center for a day trip or overnight trip please be considerate. Park on the side of the building away from the front door. Trips created by travel/cruise companies: Travel insurance will be included in the cost of these trips when available. You can refuse the purchase of the insurance by signing a waiver of responsibility for the City of Garland. Balance is usually due 60 days prior to departure for most companies. Cancellation after that time results in a proration of your refund and forfeiture of your deposit. See itineraries for specifics from each company. Roommates: The center keeps a roommate list at the front desk. We will try to match you up with a suitable travel partner. However, you must check with us often to guarantee how the process is going. Trips created by staff at the senior center No refunds will be given for day trips unless you notify the center at least 24 hours prior to departure. Notification on the morning of departure does not qualify for a refund. If you do not show up for a trip by the departure time, you will not receive a refund. Refunds for all trips (day and overnight) are based on amounts that are refundable by the vendor. In the case of theater performances and baseball games where tickets are nonrefundable, you may sell your space to another person. That person must notify the center prior to departure that they will be going with us as a substitution. Deposits for overnight trips are due at registration. Balance for overnight trips is due 30 days prior to departure. If you must cancel, all money is refundable at that point unless stated otherwise.
