MAC ANNOUNCES 2015 FOOTBALL ACADEMIC ALL-MAC TEAM 126 Students honored with excellence in academics and athletics For Immediate Release Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 Cleveland, Ohio The Mid-American Conference announced its 2015 Football Academic All-MAC team as a total of 126 students were named to the 2015 Academic All-MAC team. Central Michigan (Joe Bacci, Nick Beamish, Mark Chapman, Winslow Chapman, Ron Coluzzi, Josh Cox, Jabari Dean, Austin Doan, Jesse Kroll, Alex Neering, Jeff Perry, Anthony Rice, Kenny Rogers, Cooper Rush, Mitch Stanitzek, Trevor Thomas, Mike Zenk) topped the 2015 Academic All-MAC squad with 17 selections. Kent State (James Alexander, Connor Arlia, Matt Bahr, George Bollas, Chad Bushley, Nick Cuthbert, Matt Dellinger, Marcus Elliott, Luke Grandjean, Nate Holley, Shane Hynes, Jordan Italiano, Sam Kukura, Matt Sommers) was second with 14 selections and Northern Illinois (Cameron Clinton-Earl, Shane Evans, Ryan Graham, Christian Hagan, Drew Hare, Bobby Jones IV, William Lee, Andrew Ness, Alex Schwab, Max Scharping, Luke Shively, Shane Wimann) ranked third with 12 selections. Bowling Green (Zac Bartman, Terrance Bush, Joe Davidson, Logan Dietz, Ryan Hunter, Nate Locke, Alfonso Mack, Trevor Roop, Ben Steward, Tyler Tate, Donovan Wilson), Eastern Michigan (Blake Banham, Jason Beck, Daniel Buschman, Ian Eriksen, Cole Gardner, Jake Hurcombe, Dylan Mulder, Tyler Onda, Chris O Risky, Brendan Renius, Lavonte Robinson) and Western Michigan (Lucas Bezerra, Kasey Carson, Lucas Cherocci, Kristof Ikfovits, Derek Mitchell, Taylor Moton, Alec Moulton, Zachary Novoselsky, J. Schroeder, Trevor Sweeney, Zach Terrell) each tied for fourth-place with 11 selections. There were a total of three students named as four-time selections: Robert Stein (Akron), Jacob Richard (Ball State) and Tyler Tate (Bowling Green). The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
