INTRODUCTION: With an objective to reduce the burden of disease and out of pocket spending for higher treatment of BPL families of Narmada State Nodal Cell, Health & Family Welfare Dept. Gandhinagar, District Panchayat, Narmada in active coordination with District health society, Narmada, organized First Mega health Camp under Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana on 26th, April, 213 at Chotubhai Purani Ground, Dist. Narmada from 9:3 hrs. To 17.3 hrs. OBJECTIVES: The main objective behind the mega health camp was to screen patients from village level by medical officers, provide specialty consultation, instant diagnose & necessary treatment along with drugs. The Patients, who need higher tertiary care treatment, are as soon as referred to various net work hospitals under MA yojna for future treatment. If any patient not covers under MA yojna or not required are refer to hospitals under other different health scheme like RSBY. All patients got consultation with free diagnosis and medicine for their cure and also advice to be in contact with their respective PHC/CHC Medical officers for future follow up. Mainly focus on Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana. In Narmada district there are many BPL Families, who cannot afford costly tertiary care treatment or because of tertiary care treatment there economic status decreases. The Mega health camp under MA Yojna aims to act as a safety net for the BPL families by hold their hands in each step of treatment starting from village level screening by MOs to transport them to camp side by ASHA, provide free multi-specialty consultation, all necessary diagnosis, required drugs at mega health camp, finally guide the referred patients to avail the needful treatment at nearest empanelled hospital and follow up under MA Yojna. Beside above all primary objective it also focuses on to develop public awareness about MA Yojna and its benefits to common BPL peoples. It also focused on provide new enrolment of MA beneficiaries at camp side. ORGANISING COMMITTEE: To properly coordinate and smoothly conduct the Health camp for a successful mega health camp the following organizing committee was constituted with the chairmanship of Dr. G.B. Verma, CDHO, Narmada along with 6 other sub-committees namely IEC comt., Food and mandap comt., drugs and other logistic comt. Human resource comt., Internal arrangement and discipline comt., Finance comt., IT comt. Under the leadership of members of main organizing comt.: At taluka level a comt. also form with the leadership of THO to screen the patients by respective MOs of OHC and mobilize the patients by ASHA,FHWs & MPHWs to camp by counseling and motivating the beneficiaries.

CAMP PREPRATION & ACTIVITIES: VENUE: In order to cover large number of population Chotu bhai purani school campus, Rajpipila was selected and necessary arrangement done to smoothly conduct the mega camp. The school rooms are used for consultation chamber and for other services and the whole ground used for waiting hall, refreshment area and parking area. The key reason behind selecting Rajpipila as the venue of camp because it s the district head quarter and it s accessibility to other peoples of all other taluka by road connectivity easily. Also transport of doctors, health workers and supportive staffs, instruments and other logistics for mega camp can be done easily to this place because of good road connectivity. IEC ACTIVITIES: Around 3 days before Mega Health camp.jilla Panchayat team, PHCs, CHCs, ASHA workers, FHW started visiting local areas and provide information regarding MA Yojna and mega health camp. Integrating it with the ongoing RSBY enrollment process give a extra advantage to reach a larger population with a short period of time for MOs, ASHA, health workers and other officials. During the supervision of RSBY enrollment process they all proactively communicate the message about health camp at village level. The aim was to mobilize and disseminate information about the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana to be undertaken during the Mega Health Camp & different health schemes. The mobilization was done with help of following activities. Door to door surveys by ASHA,health workers and village level screening by MOs at each village level The village level MO,s screening for MA health camp is the key initiative by Narmada district,which reduce the extra burden on camp but increase the number of speciality consultation and referral to really needy patients. Door to Door distribution of printed MA card & make awareness of MAY with help of Asha workers.

Distribution of 5, Pamphlets, 15 stickers at village level. Displayed hording in each & every PHCs and Public places. Public meetings with help of FHW & ASHA. Special MA Yojna and mega camp sensitization work shop for ASHA workers at each Taluka and integrating it in FHW & MPHW RSBY workshop at each taluka level. Advertisement in newspaper and other Medias. Involving key persons of villages and PRI members in patient mobilization. PRE MEGA CAMP MEETING WITH COMMITTEE: A pre mega camp meeting was called on 22th April 213 at General Hospital Narmada. All committee members were present. They discuss on all arrangement of first mega health of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana. Patient Mobilization: As per earlier decision, there were number of vehicles arranged for mobilize patients from PHCs & Villages to camp site. New Enrolment of MA Card & Distribution: There were number of BPL families visited MA Taluka kiosk which was placed in ChotubhaiPurani Compound. Many cards were printed. These new printed MA cards were distributed to beneficiaries. Registration Desk: The camp was started at its scheduled time 9.3 hrs. There were 15 registration desks divided in 5 different stalls. Hospital team, Arogyamitras, DPMU Unit Members, students did registration & also assisted people. General Screening: For easy screening, waiting/seating arrangement in Shamiana, Patients enter in Shamiana & seat there. As per guideline FHW made queue of patients as first come first serve. There were 8 general screening stall. 6 for male and 2 for female. There were 3 Medical Officer & other Para-medical staff in each General screened stall. After screening, patients referred to specialist Doctors or prescribed drugs.

Specialist Doctors: When patients refer to specialist doctors, FHW, MPHW assists them to respectively specialist doctor opd, FHW, MPHW stands on each specialist doctor s room along with Arogya Mitra. Specialist doctors screened them & if any investigation needed they refer for laboratory, X-Ray, ECG, etc. These all primary investigation were available on camp site at free of cost. Specialist Doctors: There were many specialist doctors deputed in Mega health camp from beneficiaries. Their specialty mentioned below and Doctors name list attached. 1. Pediatric 2. Orthopedic 3. Physician 4. Cardiology 5. Psychiatric 6. General Surgery 7. Cancer Surgery 8. E.N.T. 9. Dental 1. Gynecology 11. Plastic Surgeon After all investigation done patients were referred to specialist doctors with their reports, where doctors checked all reports & advise them for further treatment if needed. Patients who were screened and identify for MAY, District coordinators & Arogya mitra recorded there detail & guide them for go to referred empaneled Hospital. Private Participant: There were 3 private empaneled hospitals participated in Mega Health Camp with their specialist Doctors (Cardiologist, Cancer Surgeon) Para medical staff. 1. Sumandeep Hospital, Baroda. 2.Dhiraj Hospital, Baroda. 3. Baroda Heart Hospital, Baroda.

Pharmacy: All primary drugs were available on 3 various pharmacy stalls on camp site. Drugs were provided to patient at free of cost. Available drug list is attached. Facilities: Medical Facilities: Major specialist Doctors were available. All primary investigation likes laboratory, x-ray, sonography, ECG, 2D- Echo, etc. Drugs were provided to patient at free of cost. Patient Counseling. General Facilities: Pick and Drop Facility for Patient Shamiana Sitting Lounge. Fans. Pure Drinking Water. Hygienic Food. Highlights Mr.Mansukhbhai Vasava (MP BJP), Ms. Ranjanben Wada (RAC), Mrs. Chakchuak (DDO), Mr. Shabda Sharan Tadvi (MLA), Mr. Motibhai Vasava (MLA) & Health Committee Narmada did the lighting of lamp and inaugurated Mega Health Camp. MA Help Desk was available for beneficiary to guide and make awareness regarding MA Yojana. Mr. Sandeep Dasandi(Nagar Palika President) & Local BJP Active members also visited Mega Healthcamp. Short Speech was given by all Chief Guest as Mr. Mansukhbhai Vasava, Dr. G B Verma (CDHO), Dr. S A Arya (DTO) etc. Dr.Nitesh Shah & Team also visited Mega Healthcamp. Mr. Jatin Joshi (Project Head MDI) & team were also present in Mega Healthcamp. Arogya mitras, hospital staff and FHWs registered patients and assist them.

Arogya Mitra & District Co-ordinator recorded patients detail & counsel them for go to referred empaneled Hospital. General Hospital Rajpipla, and ISA Team fulfill all basic information and assist patients and all participants very well. Approx. 45 people took hygienic lunch.
