From prenatal to geriatric care, cancer treatments to organ transplants, Ochsner Medical Center offers a broad spectrum of care second-to-none. MEDICAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION At Ochsner, close collaboration between clinicians and scientists bring medical discoveries from the laboratory to the bedside. Ochsner is a national leader in medical research with 200 annual publications in medical literature. It is one of the largest non-university based physician training centers in the nation with over 375 medical residents, over 600 medical student months, over 400 allied health students and 400 nursing students in 2007. The Ochsner Health System includes a network of seven hospitals and over 35 health centers located throughout Southeast Louisiana. Ochsner Medical Center is located near uptown New Orleans and includes acute and sub-acute care facilities and The Ochsner Cancer Institute, Multi-Organ Transplant Institute and Heart and Vascular Institute. Ochsner Medical Center for Children, the in-patient facility, and Ochsner Children s Health Center, the ambulatory care-center, both offer comprehensive care for our youngest patients.
