Ordained by the Franciscans in 1961. Taught at St. Francis Seminary in Troutdale (1963-64) and at Serra Catholic High School in Salem (1964-68). Pastor at St. Anthony in Tigard (1968-70). After 18-month absence from priesthood, he was a pastor in Spokane, Oakland, Calif., and Sacramento before returning to St. Anthony in 1988. In 1993, Washington County Sheriff s Office investigated accusations that he sexually abused a boy in Tigard in the late 1960s, but the claims were too old to prosecute. Left the Accused of abusing three boys at St. Mary s beginning when they were 8, 11 and 12 years old. Another accuser said Boyle sexually abused him in schools in California and Las Vegas. Jacobson, Gary Jacques, Robert Lawrence (also known as Father Kenneth) in the Baker Diocese. In 1993, a board of inquiry concluded that at least 34 boys were sexually abused at St. Anthony's from 1963 to 1987. Two priests were convicted in the case. The board identified 11 friars -- about one-quarter of the friars on staff during that period -- who were involved in sexual abuse of minors during those 23 years, according to the board's November 1993 report. A 1958 letter to McDowell from Provincial Theodore J. Mehling, former University of Portland president, noted that McDowell had already received two canonical warnings for his conduct. One accusation described in the letter involved McDowell's inappropriately fondling two high school boys. An Elgin man says St. Arnaud molested him there in the 1970s. A dozen accusers have alleged abuse of boys in the 1950s and 1960s at the Southeast Portland parish and Boy Scout camps. Archdiocesan officials say they have no record of complaints during Perone s tenure, although one lawsuit contends that Perone's alleged improper sexual activities with young males were reported to the archdiocese in 1954. Documents further indicate that the Paulist Fathers received a complaint in 1956 that Perone touched the genitals of a boy in Casper,Wyo. Known as the builder priest because he helped build Sacred Heart Church in Newport in early 1950s, St. Mary Mission Church in Siletz in 1958, and St. Patrick Church in Toledo and St. Jude Church in Eugene, both in 1971. Was regularly guest-preaching at St. Catherine in Veneta as late as 1997 and St. Anthony in Waldport in 2002. Celebrated his 90th birthday and 61 years as a priest in 2003 involving both Perone and the Rev. Thomas Laughlin has fallen through. Four accusers, including two brothers and former altar boys in Lincoln City who say Raleigh forced them to engage in various sex acts in the mid- to late 1950s. Another accuser says Raleigh subjected him to kissing, fondling, masturbation and oral sex at St. John the Apostle in Oregon City in 1950 or 1951, when he was about 12 or 13. The fourth accuser says Raleigh forced him to engage in genital fondling and oral sex with him and engaged in genital fondling, oral and anal sex with children within the accuser s view. Ronan, Andrew Rudin, Remy with a Mass at St. Benedict Lodge, a Dominican retreat center on the McKenzie River. Belonged to the Order of Friars, Servants of Mary, also known as the Servites. In the late 1950s, Servites removed Ronan from seminary where he was teaching in Benburb, Northern Ireland, after a student accused him of sexual misconduct. Reassigned to now-defunct, allboys St. Philip High School on Chicago's West Side (1959 to 1965). Accused of sexual misconduct with St. Philip's students. Transfered to The Grotto, a shrine at Northeast 85th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard in Portland. Laicized in 1966 by the Archdiocese of Portland after accusation of sexual again surfaced. Born in Chico, Calif., in 1921. Joined the Franciscans in 1942 and was ordained at Mission Santa Barbara in 1949. Ministered to Native Americans in Arizona before coming to the Archdiocese of Portland in 1960. Chaplain at the Fairview Home for the Mentally Handicapped and MacLaren School for Boys. Also pastor of St. Mary Parish in Shaw, where he built the new church in 1962. In 1973, transferred to Ascension in Portland, where he stayed until 1975, when he suffered a stroke and returned to Arizona. There he did a limited ministry with Native Americans. At least two accusers in Portland, plus others in Chicago and Ireland. A Seattlearea man claims he was 15 or 16 when Ronan repeatedly abused him in Portland in late 1965 or early 1966. Archdiocese paid $5,000 in 2003 to settle one claim. Settled another claim for zero dollars before the bankruptcy. Nearly a dozen accusers claim they were abused by him as boys when he worked at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Accusations include oral and anal sex. Kenneth Schwartz, John Senko, Martin Richard Ordained in 1965. Worked in Eugene for two years in the early 1980s. Served Holy Rosary in Northeast Portland (1983-91), before becoming a Navy chaplain. Left Jesuit High School in 1987 and the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) at some point. Was working as parish priest at St. Anselm in Marin County in the Archdiocese of San Francisco when a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse was filed in Multnomah County in October 2005. Took voluntary leave of absence. Archdiocese spokesman promised independent investigation to determine whether Schwartz could return to work as a priest. Born in 1930 in Hillsboro. Attended minor seminary at Mount Angel and graduated from college there in 1952. Received theological training at St. Edward Seminary, Kenmore, Wash. Ordained in 1956. Earned master s degree in education from University of Portland. Teacher and then principal of St. Boniface High School in Sublimity (1956-58), teacher and vice principal at St. Francis (now Marist) High School in Eugene (1958-59), teacher at Catholic Central High School in Southeast Portland (1959-62), teacher and then principal at North Catholic High School in Portland (1962-70), administrator and then pastor of St. Frederic Parish in St. Helens (1970-77), pastor of St. Rose in Portland year-old boy in Eugene in 1983 or 1984 when the victim was in high school. The Franciscan s Sexual Misconduct Review Committee recommended his return to the ministry, but the order decided against it. Former Jesuit High School student claimed Schwartz, a teacher, molested him from 1985 to 1987. After Senko was accused of touching a girl in an improper way at St. Peter Parish, Archbishop William J. Levada decided Senko needed to leave parish and go into treatment, according to a deposition given by Father Charles Lienert. Senko submitted letter of resignation on March 23, 1993, but denied consciously or unconsciously touching the girl improperly. Also appears to have spent time at Redemptorist Renewal Center in Tucson, Ariz., and in Denver, which is the headquarters of the Redemptorists. Born in 1944 in Wenatchee, Wash. Attended Gonzaga University, Wenatchee Valley College and Mount Angel Seminary. Ordained in 1972. Served St. Mary in Eugene, MacLaren School for Boys and Hillcrest School for girls (1972-75), chaplain for Oregon s prison system (1975-83 and 1986-99), St. Mary in Corvallis (1983-86), St. Joseph in Salem (1999-2003), and St. Edward in Keizer and St. Boniface in Sublimity (both in 2000-02). Accused of molesting a teenage boy on eight to 12 occasions on the grounds of Holy Redeemer in mid-1980s. Alleged incidents included sodomy, oral sex and fondling, all on the grounds of Holy Redeemer Parish. At the time accusations surfaced, he was director of the Newman House, University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. He was removed at least temporarily when accusations surfaced. Tentative $15,000 settlement has fallen through, and claimant will seek punitive damages in federal court. Nineteen former MacLaren inmates accuse Sprauer of molesting them when he was chaplain in the 1970s. One additional man accuses Sprauer of molesting him while he was an inmate at Oregon State Correctional Institution. Speaking through his attorney, Sprauer denies the charges. Archdiocese paid $450,000 in 2003 to settle claim. he was struck by a car while crossing a street in San Francisco. Sullivan, Gregory Susbauer, Michael Thatcher, John R. Thielen, Monsignor Martin Sullivan was a priest in the Archdiocese of Portland from 1979 to 1984. Served at St. Peter in Portland for at least part of his tenure. Born in 1916 in Butte, Mont. Joined the Jesuits in Sheridan in 1934. After four years in Sheridan, moved to Spokane and began studying philosophy at Mount St. Michael's. Taught at Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma from 1941 to 1944, and began his theology studies in California at Alma College in 1944. Ordained in 1947 and continued his studies. From 1953 to 1957, taught at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane. Served at St. Ignatius in Portland for 29 years, from 1957 to 1973, and from 1981 to 1994. A pastor at St. Aloysius in Spokane from 1973 to 1981. Attended Columbia Prep. After seminary, his superiors sent him to Rome for advanced studies. Ordained in 1935. Two more claims pending, including a man who says Thielen sexually assaulted him at least three times in 1957 and 1958, when he was 13 or 14 years old. That man is now seeking punitive damages in federal court. The other claimant has waived his right to punitive damages and is pursuing a jury trial in Multnomah County Circuit Court. Archdiocese paid out more than $1.8 million in 2003 to settle three cases. Accuser, who was 13 to14 years old at the time, says he was subjected to pornography and sexual abuse on six to 12 occasions from 1980 to 1981 at St. Thomas More. St. Paul's in Silverton, according to the church s Web site. Wolfe hanged himself in his Albuquerque, N.M., apartment in 1994.
